Yoongi was in the dance studio with the other members. They were taking a quick break to catch their breath, before going over the choreography once again. He heard some of the guys talk in hushed whispers across from him, and gasp. They all gasped and fell silent. Yoongi stared at them, trying to figure out what was happening when he heard Namjoon say "I'm gonna call Mike to check on her!"
"What's happening? Why do you all have that face?"
"You better see this for yourself!" Jimin said and handed him his phone. There were hundreds, if not more, articles about a scandal involving Kurt' band, FeuerTieren.
He scrolled down reading the titles, as they all said similar things.
"FeuerTieren's frontman under investigation, after rape and drug allegations!"
"FeuerTieren under fire? Find out more about recent claims against the band"
"Is this the end of FeuerTieren: How a few social media posts ruined their reputation"
"Violence, drugs and rape: what is FeuerTieren's front man being accused of?"
Yoongi clicked on one of the news articles, but he immediately regretted it. Turns out, after a fan left the concert unconscious, she came to the conclusion that her drink had been spiked. She attended the backstage party thrown by the frontman, and after she spoke up, many more started sharing their stories on how the lead singer had forced them to partake in hard drugs, and then took advantage of their unconscious state to have his way.
The rabbit hole went as deep as a sophisticated scouting system, to find the most beautiful women to attend the backstage parties and offer them tickets and exclusive backstage passes. There, their phones were confiscated, and they were pressured to drink and do drugs with the singer, just to make sure they wouldn't remember a thing the next morning. It all was uncovered when one fan took to social media to share a video of a hand in-print she had on her ribs after the concert, yet she did not have any recollection of it ever happening. The bruise was purple-ish, and covered and enormous portion of her stomach, how could someone forget something like that happening?
Yoongi was horrified. How could someone ever be so disgusting, he thought. Using their fame to pressure young women into drugs and sex, and even hurting them. But then again, he didn't like their vibe when he got to meet them. The drummer wasn't fazed by his presence, and hit on Kat anyway, and the rest of them, although they were nice, something about them wasn't right.
Then Kat crossed his mind. He instinctively pulled out his phone and called her, only to be met with the harsh reality that she had blocked him once again. He tried checking in on her on every social media platform, but with no exception, he was blocked on all of them.
He called Eddie then, wanting to know how Kat was reacting to the news. She had been to their concerts many times before, was it possible that she had gone through the same things as all of those women? If not, would they ever try to do the same cruel acts with her? Was her boyfriend an accomplice to these atrocities? The articles only ever mentioned the lead singer, so hopefully, her boyfriend was different. But then again, how can someone be unaware of what's happening at their own backstage??
Eddie was well aware of the news, and so was the rest of the group. Kat however had no idea. Ever since the news wouldn't stop talking about her relationship, she stopped checking them.
Currently Crazy Saints were deciding how to approach the subject, and make Kat come to her senses. They had never approved of the relationship, and this was their last drop. This relationship was putting her life in danger, and if she too were to get her drink spiked, she ran the risk of relapsing. Rehab was the most difficult time of her life, she was fighting not only her addiction, but also the feelings that resulted in that addiction to begin with. They did not want her to have to go through all that again.
When the break ended everyone went back to practice, but their focus was all over the place. Especially Yoongi, who couldn't stop thinking about Kat and her safety.
Kat punched in her code as she entered her house. As soon as she was in, she was greeted by 4 very familiar faces, all siting in her living room.
"Oh, hi guys! To what do I owe the visit?"
"We need to talk..." Mike spoke sternly.
"I'm not out of the band, am I!?"
"No, what!? This isn't about the band. This is about you. We're worried about you!" Zeke said.
"Worried about what?"
"Honey, I think you should sit down for this." Alissa stood up, and gently guided Kat to her seat. Everyone had a very serious look on their face, almost like when someone is about to deliver really bad news. They looked like they were waiting to tell her puppy died.
"I uh, we know you're an adult, and we know you said you don't need parental guidance, but we're here to address your relationship with Kurt."
"What's there to address? Things are perfect. I'm happier than ever."
"We both know that's a lie. And that's why we're here to veto your boyfriend."
Due to past unsavory situations where one of the members' relationships got in the way of their career or wellbeing, they put a voting system in place. When a relationship is doing more harm than good, the members vote if they veto that relationship, or allow it to continue. If at least 2 out of the three members vote in favor of vetoing the person, then that relationship should end immediately. Besides being co-workers, they were also family, and as such, most of the times they knew what was best for that person.
"WHAT!?? YOU CAN'T DO THAT!! I DO WHAT I WANT WITH MY LIFE!!"
"Can you sit down please? Listen, we all agreed that if any of us ever got into a shitty relationship, the band had the power to decide if that person should break up. We've done this before, that's how Mike got rid of Valerie and ended up meeting Alissa."
Mike put a hand on her shoulder as he spoke. "You might not see it now, but it's for the best. Look at where I am now with Alissa!!" he took a moment to squeeze his partner's hand before continuing. "We wouldn't be here, if it weren't for you guys seeing what I was too blind to see! I found my true soulmate, just when I thought Val was 'the one' I met Alissa, and realized how mistaken I was".
"But Kurt takes good care of me, he's a good man! He is always there when I need him, unlike Yoongi!"
"SEE! That's yet another reason why you should break up. You're still not over Yoongi, and it shows! After all this time, you still compare him to Yoongi!" Alissa was getting heated at this point. It pissed her off, how blind Kat was, stating she moved on but then bringing him up at every chance she gets. "You're only hurting yourself by forcing this to work, and in the process, you're hurting Kurt too. You've been using him as a rebound"
"And about Kurt, I'm not sure if you're aware of the news, but his band is under investigation, and there's been some pretty serious accusations being made against them."
"WHAT! Why?"
"Uhm, among the complaints there's assault, rape, and drug related shit like spiking drinks."
"You don't think Kurt would...?"
"We can't be sure, and that's why I think it's best if you break up with him. It's not healthy or safe for you to be around an environment where people are being forced to do drugs, and even worse stuff."
"We're only looking out for you. We don't want you to get hurt."
She sat down in silence, playing with her hands as she took in everything that was said.
"I get it... Give me a week or two... I need to process everything first"
"Take your time, we'll be here for you every step of the way." They stood up and brought her in for a group hug.
"Thank you!" she said sobbing as they held her tighter.
