Chapter 41

Two years may seem like a lot of time at first, but the truth is that two years go by, and you don't even notice it. That's what Kat and Yoongi felt as they looked back at their life in the last two years. They moved in together, Yoongi started his military service, Kat got pregnant, Yoongi was discharged, and they welcomed a baby girl into the world. So much had happened, and it was overwhelming sometimes, to take everything in.

Being a father was demanding, but it was something Yoongi took much pride in and tried to help Kat as much as he could. Last thing he wanted was for his girlfriend to have to take care of the baby, and also do all the chores around the house. So, he cooked her dinner, did most of the laundry and took care of the cats for Kat. While Kat made lunch and took care of Yumi all day while Yoongi was at work. Caring for Yumi was easier than what they had both anticipated, she was just as Yoongi's mom said she'd be: a peaceful and very adorable baby.

Managing work and parenthood was a little bit trickier, however. Kat already had prerecorded material for a new Crazy Saints album they were planning on releasing, the only thing she had to do now was participate in promotions. This album would sort of be their farewell album, as Kat wanted to focus on her family, Mike and Alissa wanted to enjoy life as a married couple, and Eddie and Zeke were both onboard with the idea of taking a break to get some rest and tend to their relationships as well. They would drop the album as a gift to their fans before going on a hiatus, do maybe two or three press conferences about it, and go on with their lives.

On top of that, Kat would also be releasing her first solo album. Away from the heavy stuff she usually did, she found solace in indie rock music, a genre where she'd always find herself composing on. She had a lot of stripped down, vulnerable indie rock songs she made in a hard drive catching dust, and it wasn't until Yoongi coaxed her into releasing it, that she actually considered it. She spoke to her label and decided to release a solo album. The release was set to one month after the last release of the last Crazy Saints album. The tracks were already recorded and sent over to the mixing and mastering engineers, both for her band and her solo stuff, so now the only thing she had to do was wait and do very few promotions about them once they were out.

For Yoongi things weren't as simple as that.

As much as Yoongi wanted to spend every moment with his newborn daughter, only a month after his discharge, he had to go back to work already. BTS were planning to release a new album around the one-year anniversary of their reunion, and they had to prepare everything in advance. But as soon as his work was done, he would run home, just so he could tend to his girlfriend and their little girl. But he had to write and record songs for their new album, learn and rehearse the choreos, and shot the music videos and short videos for the press. And as soon as their album was out, they'd have to travel abroad to do several press runs about it. If they would do a tour or not, was still unclear, but if they did, Yoongi would do everything he could to bring his girlfriend and daughter along.

He was thankful that so far no rumors or anything regarding his private life had come out. They managed to hide not only their relationship, but also a baby. Some of Kat's fans had noticed her baby bump on Mike's wedding photos, but after one single social media post saying "Yes, I'm pregnant and very happy to be expecting my first baby. Please, I would appreciate you respect my privacy and let me enjoy this moment, free of concerns and speculations. Thank you.", she managed to quiet them all down. And not only did they not continue to pressure her with questions, but so far no one seemed to have connected the dots and realized they were together. They just stayed out of Kat and Yoongi's hair, because it was none of their business after all.

"Hey, look who it is!"

"Let me see our little girl!" Eddie ran to Kat and grabbed her baby car seat.
