The Incident: Book 7, Part 8.

W/ Mya, Julian, Chad, Victor And Oliver.

Setting: Leading into a snowy forest, The others trekking behind Chad.

Julian's POV/1st Person:

I tried to keep my mind off the cold as we trudged through the snow that was somehow  rapidly  flying down. Oliver hobbled and took extra long breaks between steps from the cold, and Chad looked behind him, seeing Oliver quake ever so slightly, apparently cold.  He rolls his eyes, muttering a 'Seriously?' I   smirk, and Pet Oliver a couple times, the box of beer in the other hand. "This dog, man.." Chad started to seem irritated, before looking over at mya And raising a brow. "Tell me why he's with us again?" Chad says, indirectly commenting on the mutant dog's docile and sensitive reactions to the weather despite his size. Mya sighs, never taking her eyes off the  Forest ahead as she responds to Chad. "For starters, he's my dog. And secondly, he serves  a purpose here. And apparently he has abilities, such as being bullet proof. Or close enough."    Victor perks up, turning to Mya. "And do you think we can possibly use that to our advantage? Somehow?" He asks. Mya looks over at him. "Unless he has any more undiscovered abilities,  I'm not sure there's much we can do with His Bullet-resistance ability." Mya shakes her head, sighing. I heard dull footsteps, and I looked at the direction it was coming from,  was   Unfortunately, for us, it was a Capybara. Snowflakes had already started to coat its back, top of its head and snout, slightly making it seem(Or alot) more intimidating. It was smaller than most, but it still seemed vicious. Most likely an adolescent. It huffed, its low  snorts and eerie  sounds tearing through its throat in a menacing manner, it hadn't seemed to spot them. Oliver tensed up, and I looked to the others, to make sure that they were seeing the exact same thing.  "Just exactly what we need." Chad muttered to himself, and Victor looked at  him like he was insane, most likely  not getting  Chad's figure  of speech.  "Uh, hermano, this is  the exact  opposite of what we want to happen right  now." Victor says, confused and a little concerned, but Chad only responded with an annoyed glare  as  a 'No duh, Sherlock.'  Victor didn't say anything after  that, only keeping a worried but flabbergasted expression plastered onto his face.  I stifled a laugh(Or at least tried to) as the two guys went back  and forth. Although I'm impressed that Victor actually showed emotion other than 'chill' for the first time. So that's a first. The Capybara, who had been standing there, sniffing the ground, although the scents were covered up by the snow(Most likely.) Which gave it a little advantage. "Dude.. what's going on with it?" Mya says, and I realized what she was talking about. It wasn't attacking on sight, although it looked in our direction several times. "Is  It Blind? Or is it just stupid?"  Chad said, but flinched slightly as it growled, louder this  time. I sigh, shaking my head. Looking at him. "Yeah man, be careful. It doesn't seem too happy." I try to warn Chad. Chad's surprised expression contorted into a scowl before pulling a pistol out of his holster. Everyone seemed pretty much surprised, most likely thinking the same thing I was. "Woah, dude, where'd you even get-"  Victor says to Chad, before Oliver snarls and barks, lunging at the capybara, causing it to panic and let out an alarmed and outraged sound.

No One's POV/3rd Person:

"WOAH! Oliver- HEY!" Mya tries to get Oliver as he attempts to attack the Capybara who kept slashing its wide paws at him, Lucky for Him, he was able to Dodge and outmaneuver it, Surprisingly quick for his build  and stature..  Chad pulls the trigger and tries to shoot the Capybara, but he wasn't quite aligning the shots that well."Come On! What's the fuss and struggle with just shooting it!?" Mya Yelled, definitely stressed. Most likely because the growling from Oliver, the guttural noises from the capybara, the Firing of Chads' Pistol was making too much noise and could possibly draw attention to capybaras or anything else nearby. Chad grimaces in frustration, then finally gets  a shot, right in the Capybara's flank, it stumbles back, snarling in pain, but not slowing it much.  Just as Chad was about to go for another shot, Mya shakes her head, then looks at Julian. "Throw one of those beer bottles at  it." Mya says. Julian looked flabbergasted, but didn't question. Pulling one out of the case and hurling it at the Capybara, The glass exploded on impact, causing the beer to drench one side of the capybara.  It whirls around. Before stopping, getting ready to attack Oliver who was still snapping at its legs and trying to go for its neck. Chad  Sighs, knowing that was just a waste of a bottle(Not that he cared. Maybe he did. Who knows.) And was finally able to shoot the capybara clean through its temple. Causing the Capybara to fall down in a heap of brown and a slightly blood stained fur, limply splayed across  the snow. "That was sick, but also kind of stupid. Waste of time, people." Victor says in irritation, before walking in front of everyone,to continue their trek.

. . .

An Hour later.

Coming across a small cabin,   that seemed abandoned.

"...Woah." Mya says. Chad nods. "Yeah." he says, sighing. Oliver eagerly patted up to the porch, desperate to get off the cold snow, impatiently waiting at the door. Mya jogged up to the door, and tried opening it. "Think we can get inside?" Victor says, standing beside Julian who watched Chad walk over next to Mya, and tried assisting as well. "Wont Budge." Chad says bluntly, pressing his bodyweight against the door and gives the doorknob a hard shake, before sighing. Julian looked to the window, which surprisingly was not boarded up. "...OOoh.. What about one of us goes through the window, and opens the door from the inside?" Julian suggests. Everyone exchanged glances, before they all agreed. "I'll go in." Mya says, walking over to the window before Chad stops her. "No. I will. Everyone else, wait outside." He says, before speedwalking past the others and breaks through the window, and climbs in.  While everyone else anxiously stood by,hoping Chad could let them in from the inside, and that they would have a temporary break from this chaos. Just this  once.
