The Incident: Book 7, Part 13.
W/ Mya, Julian, Chad, Oliver and Victor.
Setting: In the Cabin Like Shelter, With Mya And Julian standing outside, staring off into the snowy forest.
No One's POV/3rd Person:
"...What I had wanted to say... was." Mya says, sighing. Julian looks at her, with a calm expression. "Do you even think we'll get out of here? Like, away from the capybaras' and all?" Mya asks, and Julian ponders, slightly taken aback. "This isn't my actual question. My actual question is a followup to this one." Mya says. Julian shrugs, trying to continue to sport a cheerful smile. "I hope all of us can. Maybe we could finally rest. I doubt that anything will go back to normal or how it used to be... but, I think it'll be okay if we continue to have each other." Julian responds with a slight undertone of wistfulness, as all of the other outcomes and possibilities ran through his head. Mya silently agrees. She knew the chances of them all making it out were pretty low. It was hard to have optimism in their current state. "Well, though... I feel like you have a chance." Mya deadpanned, looking straight forward, maintaining a neutral expression. Julian looked at her curiously. "To get out of here." she says. She looks at him, flashing a quick, semi-joking grin. "You seem like that kind of person.... To just- Outlive everyone, you know? You have that potential." Mya says. Julian's brow creases. "Mya, what-" Julian says. He didn't get to finish his sentence. Mya started back up again. "I keep having this feeling..." She scanned the area as she talked. "That our rivals, like Enzo, and Liam, can come around any minute. And we can just be wiped out, just like that." Mya says. "There's Enzo..... He's dangerous. You know what he did, Julian." Mya gave him a cold, numb glare. "What do we have to defend ourselves with? We don't even have Sgt. Rudo with us anymore." Mya says, and Julian looked concerned, pushing himself off the balustrade. "Mya, you're just assuming that he's even still alive. We don't know If Sgt. Rudo already took care of him." Julian says, taking a few steps toward her. "No. You knew what Sgt. Rudo did when we ran into Enzo for the first time? He never attacked him. He never fought back. He probably knew, or knows something we don't. And that's exactly why that is dangerous, Julian." "And don't forget how he didn't act when he saw that guy, What was his name? Al? Get brutally murdered by Enzo. He just stood there. He didn't do anything." Mya argues, taking a few steps closer. Julian hung his head, sighing, in an attempt to cool off. "And he's not even here with us, And I seriously doubt that he's there with the others, Karis, Jace and Kennon or whatever." Mya says, before scoffing and averting her gaze. "Although that's bold of me to even assume that they aren't dead. They would've found us by now if they were." Julian listens to her words, and he stands there for a moment. Julian furrows his brow in irritation. "And you believe Enzo isn't dead but our friends are?-" Julian says. Mya finally snapped. "DID YOU JUST LISTEN TO ANYTHING I JUST SAID RIGHT NOW?!" "ENZO IS MORE EXPERIENCED, HE LIVED OUT, ISOLATED AND CAUGHT HIS OWN FOOD. AND FOUND HIS OWN WATER. HE LIVED LIKE HE WAS ON SOME SURVIVAL TV SHOW! AND WHAT ARE OUR FRIENDS COMPARED TO THAT! IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH THEY TRAIN, OR HOW MUCH WE TRAIN IT WONT COMPARE TO HIM. I BET HE'S BEEN DOING THIS SINCE EVEN BEFORE DAY ONE!" Mya says, And Julians stood there, stunned. Taken aback, and even a little hurt.

"Goddamn It, Julian. You're hanging onto false hope. Just Accept that they're dead, alright? I highly doubt they believe we're still alive either." Mya says. "We don't wait on anyone, we just have to focus on ourselves now. And if they show up, great, but don't get your hopes up anytime soon. We aren't going to go look for them. Those days are long gone." Mya continued, and Julian glared. "Maybe you've been listening to Chad too much. His ways are starting to shine through you." Julian says irritated. Mya firmly shook her head, irritated. "Yeah, maybe I have." "And I believe you should start learning from him too." Mya says, before bumping past him, and walking back into the cabin, leaving Julian alone outside on the porch. Julian stood there, lost and irritated, before sighing and sitting in a chair nearby. It was pretty much so cold, he felt like if it was possible, he'd be frozen inside one of those huge cartoony icecubes in kid shows. He smelled smoke, but it was in the Cabin,he was confused and curious to see what was going on, but he wasn't sure If he wanted to head back in with the others, he'd much rather deal with the cold right now than interact with them again. 'Whatever,' he thought to himself. 'They know that I'll end up heading back in, Attitude completely wiped soon. I'll be talking to them again anyway. They know I can't help it." He sighs, and runs a hand through his hair as he paces back and forth. His mind drifted back to their Friends. Sergeant Rudo, Karis, Kennon, Jace... What if what Mya said was right? What if they actually were dead? Then what would they do? It's been so long, he's lost count from when he last saw them. Julian found himself nervously gnawing away at his nails. It was an old habit, even before the capybara outbreak. He had a lot of habits that resulted in him either hurting himself or worse. And He Masked it all with Cheerfulness. Sure, it wasn't all fake. There were moments he genuinely enjoyed things in life. But there were also times that he felt nothing at all. Having divorced parents didn't make it either. His Father prioritized His Little sister over him, always. Although as he should.. But it hurts. His mind wandered back to the vision, what he had seen when it all officially broke out after He, Mya And Karis tried to keep it under wraps. His fathers' first instinct was to grab His little sister, Not Him. not to make sure he was following. Maybe his father expected him to be a man and save himself, or maybe he just left him there on purpose to die. He wondered if he even Reunited with his dad again, if they were to stand right before each other, how would he really react? Would He Be Excited? Sad? Or would he not care at all? Maybe It was a Good thing this all happened, after all. Julian got ripped out of his Thoughts as the Door opened, And Chad looked at him with a cold, steely expression. "Get in here." he says, voice stern. Julian looked curious, and a little worried. He wondered what it was that made Chad even have the Voice to even talk to Him, and He would only know if he Just listened to the idiot and came inside. So he made the decision to do so.
