Elle and Alex returned to their hideaway, to find that most of their things were covered in quite a thick lyer of dust from the ceiling. Alex brushed off most of the dust on his sleeping bag with his hand, before crawling in to sleep again. Anything to distract himself from Elle.

" Oh, I met Finn on my way back. He said that the date's still on and that he's still waiting for you," Chrissy said in a slightly bored tone.

Elle nodded, sitting down on her dusty sleeping bag, beginning to let her hair down from its long ponytail. She was tired, and now that all the adrenaline had left her body, she did not have much motivation to go and see Finn.

But it would be impolite to stand him up, wouldn't it?

With a heavy sigh, Elle stood up, taking some of her normal clothes and going behind one of the tunnel walls to change out of her leather ones now. She did not want to appear at her first proper date looking all messed up and violent.

Apparently, most guys hated it when girls were stronger than them. Elle was definitely stronger than Finn, but perhaps she did not have to rub it in his face.

Throwing her loose purple shirt on, Elle took only one gun with her, before starting to leave. Sam and Kurt glanced uo at her briefly as she passed by them, but did nkt say anything.

But one thing was clear in their eyes. A message that was sent straight for Elle only, a message she got. Their eyes only screamed one thing. Betrayal.

" Be back home today or staying at Finn's? " Kurt asked, his voice emotionless. She turned around but he was not even looking at her as she spoke. She frowned slightly.

" Finn's," she responded.

Kurt nodded, but she noticed how he quickly glanced up at Alex. But Elle's best partner was still in peaceful slumber. It made it much easier for her to leave, without having Alex's gaze prick tendrils of guilt and regret at her heart.

Patting her hair down, Elle started to walk out of the tunnel.

The moment she was out of sight, Chrissy emitted a long, heavy sigh.

" That girl still doesn't think of Alex's feelings? Like, does she not want to be with him?" Sam questioned, running his hands through his hair before buttoning up his shirt.

Kurt picked up one of his knives, holding it by the handle before tossing it at one of the tunnel walls. The knife handle hit the wall, bouncing off and landing with a noisy clatter on the floor. Everyone turned to the sleeping Alex, wondering if they had awoken him.

But Alex's breathing was still slow and consistent. All was well.

" I thought that Elle and Alex were going to end up together. Who knew Finn was going to break them apart?" Chrissy said with a sigh.

" All your fault, " Kurt hissed st Sam, giving him a playful punch on the arm as the gambling den owner tried to tie his tie on.

Sam pulled his tie properly, cleaning some of the dust off his work shoes. He took his sunglasses out and placed them over his eyes.

" I didn't expect Finn to be brave enough to ask Elle out," Sam defended, taking his small bag off the floor, giving it a pat to release the dust and heading out.

Chrissy glanced over at Alex, looking particularly alone in his sleep. He looked so fragile, and hardly able to hold it together.

" What does heartbreak feel like?" Kurt wondered aloud.

Chrissy looked at her friend, considering the question.

" I wouldn't know. I never fell in love with anyone before," Chrissy admitted sheepishly.
