Elle went outside, the same night, on the rooftop which she had found Chrissy on a few nights ago. A few days back, Elle was all flustered and worried about losing Alex physically. Now, a few days later, she was worried and anxious that she might have lost Alex emotionally. It shows how fast the night changes, really.

She knew that Finn would be waiting for her tomorrow, at one of the allocated locations, for their first proper date. Elle wondered if she ought to go, or whether she should just stay with the rest of their five-person crew.

Sighing, Elle leaned against one of the multiple crumbling concrete pillars holding up the shelter of the roof. It only covered half of the roof, leaving the other half exposed. She had read so many books on romance recently, that meeting a guy that would openly love her was really a dream come true.

Alex was definitely not the romantic type. If Elle wanted to wait for him to ask her out, she would have to wait an entire lifetime. As Assasins, they could not wait very long. Their lives could be taken away from them any moment now. She desperately wanted to dive head first in this promising new relationship, but she knew that something was stopping her.

And that was her love for Alex.

Long ago, Elle had already realized that she and him held a bond that she believed no one would ever be able to break, up until today. She often caught herself staring at him, as he took his shirt off after a tiring day at work. She found that Alex sleeping was so adorable, and she knew more about him than anyone else.

They always talked about their connection with one another to be like one of a brother and sister, but Elle knew better. They were more like a boyfriend and girlfriend. They had vowed never to forget the exact date which they had met, and up till now, both sides had kept that promise.

On every anniversary, Alex and Elle always got one another presents. It was sort of like a dating anniversary or something? Elle always got Alex a nice sword he had been eyeing up at a certain stall in the black market. And Alex always gave her a new gun, or a stronger set of knives to play with.

Now, their friendship did not even seem existent anymore. He was outside, avoiding her, and she was the roof, avoiding him.

Elle glanced down at the city sprawled beneath her, spotting a slow figure clad in black, walking through the dark streets of their city. She squinted. It was Alex, she knew it was him, he always walked with a slight prowl of a predator. That was the same walk he was using now.

She watched with bated breath as he sat down under a huge tree, its long branches nearly blocking her entire view of him. He was seated down, with his legs to his chest, arms resting above. He looked so lonely, so sad, so depressed.

But out of the corner of her eye, Elle saw a second person walking near him. The second person was dressed in black, and seemed to be creeping towards him. Elle took her gun out, adjusting the scope to try and see who it was. If the person posed a danger to Alex, she would kill the person instantly.

She waited as the scope focused on the second person. Elle zoomed in even more in shock.

" Chrissy?" That purple hair was unmistakable.

Why was Chrissy following Alex? Was she trying to... hook up with him or something?

Elle considered shooting her, but quickly out her gun away. She had a boyfriend, a nice boyfriend called Finn. It should not matter to her if Chrissy wanted to hook up with Alex, not that Alex and her were dating or anything like that.

She started walking off the roof top, in the direction of their hideout. Elle had lost Alex by now.
