"I don't really know how to explain this best, but I'll try--I'll uh... Um... I'll do my best with it. Sorry..." They began.
"Hey, it's okay. Take your time. That's the whole point," Bow reassured them, patting Y/N on the back gently.
...
"But--"
"Mm-mm. No 'buts', you got that?" Glimmer pointed.
"Pff, you said butt--" Mermista joked.
"NOT WHAT I MEANT!"
"Isn't this supposed to be a pep talk?" Y/N sighed.
...
Glimmer groaned in annoyance, pinching the bridge of her nose with a slight irritation. Though jokes like this were common, it didn't mean that their timing was always the best, "Yes..."
"We're ready when you are," Perfuma nodded.
They took a moment to collect their thoughts. Articulating all of those different emotions up until this point seemed close to impossible. Everything seemed to be moving so fast. Faster than they could handle.
They weren't sure how to go about it.

"I..."
"I don't..."

Y/N's foot tapped the ground. Every excruciating detail was haunting them to the last fiber.
They had never given themself time to truly register just how much danger they had been in. If they reacted a second too late, it would have been a completely different scenario. It wasn't until now that they considered the possibility.
Though, the concept of death was familiar. So was the idea of wishing it upon oneself. In this case, they had narrowly escaped the situation by the skin of their teeth.
"All I was doing was just clearing my head. I couldn't even do that without getting myself into danger."

Maybe it was some sort of sick, cruel prank orchestrated by the gods to watch Y/N fall down yet another rabbit hole. Maybe it was just an unfortunate string of events. Whatever the case, now each time they thought back on those memories with Mara, this newfound trauma overshadowed it.
To think that her name could so easily be tarnished by Hordak's murder attempt came as such a harsh realization.
"You said you were talking to your mom beforehand, right? Well--that's what Adora was saying at least," Bow was unsure and scooted forward with his hands cupped.
"Yeah."
...
...
"Let's not forget how much of a bitch your mom is. Like--I had no idea that the Antichrist lived in our neighborhood."
"Sick burn, Misty," Y/N poked their tongue out and shot a finger gun at her, actually proud of the pun.
"Don't call me that. That's reserved for only special people."
"You're saying I'm not," they feigned emotion, pretending to hyperventilate and tear up, "SPECIAL...?"
