19 ~ Things turn ugly

I felt a surge of ache in my head when I tried to open my eyes and I was welcomed by blurry visions.

"Jahanvi."

When my opened my eyes completely, the first person I saw was him. HIM. I wasn't able to realize what had happened. Neither did I realize where I actually was nor did I realize the weight of moment I was stuck in.

"Dev," his name came out in a very low voice from my mouth.

"I'm here. I'm right here."

"How are you feeling?".

"Jahanvi?".

My eyes closed again and I hummed.

"Drink some water," I heard Devi's voice and suddenly it hit me. It hit me so hard that I immediately sat up on my place ignoring the ache that I was feeling in my head but that affected me so badly that I winced in pain.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?", I heard his concerned voice.

"Do not exert yourself, Jaanvi. Have some water, hn?" Devi spoke and I felt a lump in my throat. I was just sleeping on his lap. She would have seen it. Everyone else would have seen it.

I shook my head. But he held my chin and forwarded me the glass of water towards my mouth, "Drink it silently."

I did. Just a little.

"Rest now, we'll be outside," she spoke to me in a comforting voice and I felt GUILT inside me. I don't know why, but it felt so bad.

She caressed the back of my head slowly and muttered, "Sleep Jaanvi. You need to rest. And I'm sorry this happened to you. I should have taken care of you. You're here because of me."

I don't know what happened to me and I immediately wrapped my arms around her to hug her tightly. She caressed my back with her palm and whispered in my ear, "I guess I've a hint of why you're feeling this way, but we'll talk about this later. Rest now. Your health is more important. Everyone else will be outside."

When I didn't break our hug she whispered again, "I love you, and I'm fucking hurt."

"Ishi, I—" I heard his voice from behind but he was cut off by her, "Please bhai-sa. Not now. We'll talk later."

"But Ishi ju—"

She broke our hug, "Fine! You want to talk. WE'LL TALK. Answer me. Do you think it's a joke going on around you? Do you think we're kids playing hide and seek together? Do you even consider me and Krishiv as your siblings? For God sake we share every damn single thing with you and I'm pretty sure YOU would have been the one to tell her to hide it from me. I would have never been able to guess about the relation between you two it if this incident wouldn't have happened today."

Tears welled up in Devishi's eyes and they started falling down.

She looked at me, "And I don't know since how many days you have kept it hidden from us, for months? for years? But it broke my heart. I never expected YOU to keep this secret from ME. Not atleast me. You know that how fucking badly I trust you and you're dating my own brother? Your own bestfriend's brother?"
