I was dropped to my home by the driver as it had turned late at night. I had my dinner along with my family.
Turning off the lights after locking the door of my room, I sat on the bed, resting against the wall. Priya was lying beside me, using her phone. Maa-sa and bapu-sa were in their respective room.
I took my phone in my hands and checked for the notifications.
4 messages from "Friends forever."
Friends forever? I laughed internally. This group was created when I was in standard twelfth. Hoping that we classmates would be friends for the entire life time.
I barely talk with them now. Many of them are settled abroad. And many of them resides outside Jodhpur. Neither of us are connected, except for the memes that they send in this group, that too very rarely.
But, I understand. Like I got busy in my life, everyone else is busy in their lives too. All that matters is, everyone is alive. Otherwise, after the COVID, death has become so frequent, that just living alive is a big thing in this world now.
His message flashed on my screen. I opened his chat.
D : Free?
Ofcourse.
Me : Yes.
D : Call or text?
Me : Text please. My sister is awake.
I tugged myself to bed, inside the thin duvet.
D : Sent a photo.
D : Had dinner along with Prince Yuvansh and his family, today.I opened the photo. It was a photo were Raja-sa was sitting along with his family and Prince Yuvansh's family, in the royal dining hall. The dining table had vases having orchids in them. Just beautiful!
Me : Are you alone?
D : Yeah, straddling around the palace, taking a night walk.
Me : Ever tried to see my house from the terrace of palace?
I smiled to myself.
D : Want me to? Will it be visible in night?
Me : I don't think so, maybe you can try some other day.
No reply came for next five minutes.
D : sent a photo.
D : Will try to take a more clear photo next time.I clicked on the screen to see the photo.
It was the view of Jodhpur from the terrace of his palace, probably an old picture as it was day in the photo. I zoomed it a little and there, there I saw my house, not so clear, yet visible.
Me : Good job, Raja-sa. 🤝
D : I wanted to kiss you today and I ain't lying.
I blushed to myself, my cheeks would have probably turned pink and suddenly I heard Priya's voice from just beside me, "Boyfriend?"
