Lee didn't waste time, proposing to Zandaya. They had a court wedding, A small gathering of his family and close friends for a wedding ceremony to celebrate their union. In less than two weeks after Jackie flew back and Loura came back to their honeymoon, Lee and Zandaya were husband and wife. It was surreal, Lee wondered if he'd ever experience this kind of joy in his life. If he'd ever get to experience this indescribable feeling again. The best part of being married after saying "I do", was redecorating the house his parents had left to him. He had been raised in this home and now he'd be able to raise his own children in a home that was filled and had been filled with so much love and precious memories.
With the window wide open and the wind throwing the blinds here and there, Lee and Zandaya painted their bedroom. Zandaya ran her paint brush in the corners of the walls as Lee took the top parts of the walls. Later when they stood at the entrance, admiring their work, she kissed him and said, "I want this house filled with kids and all our families. I want these doors to always be open to them".
"I have no doubt that that will be".
The pale grey paint looked dull, but Lee knew that it will all come alive as soon as everything they'd ordered arrived. Zandaya had an eye for colorful antics and house accessories. And she was set on bringing her artistic abilities- which she'd bragged about on too many occasions- to their home.
She had already placed an order for lamp lights for their room and spare bedrooms. Rugs, a nightstand and dresser that was to be delivered in two days. It would give the paint enough time to dry. Zandaya left him standing in the doorway and came back with the standing mirror his mother had gifted to them. He rushed to take it from her, "Where to?"
"The bathroom. Just find a place to place it so we can get started on the kitchen and living room".
It was twelve-thirty by now. Lee hoped they would be finished with the kitchen and living room by five. And by the next three days they would be done with the entire house. Just in time for their honeymoon. And if not, they would hire help for the two spare bedrooms and bathrooms and backyard. Zandaya had done an amazing job with planting flowers, some fruits and vegetables in the back. But the lawn in the front of the house needed some work and Lee hadn't gotten around with it because of the wedding and getting settled into his company again.
They took a break after having done the kitchen and in thirty minutes they were up, busy with the living room. They finished around past six. Then drove to the fully furnished empty apartment Jackie lend to them until they were set to move into their home. The apartments were a fifteen-minute drive from their house and when Lee parked the car, Zandaya was fast asleep in the passenger seat. He smiled and watched her for what felt like forever. Watching her chest rise and fall, listening to her steady breath and all the while thinking, she's really mine...
