Kara Yagi sat by the window of her room, sunlight streaming through the glass as she gazed at the bustling world outside. She held a notebook in her hands, scribbling absentmindedly as her thoughts wandered. Everything was so different now. For the first time in years, she felt truly free. No more whispers in her mind, no more lies shaping her reality. For the first time, her future was her own.

Her adoptive father, Toshinori Yagi, had been a revelation. She had watched him for days, quietly observing the man Kai had come to see as his true father. The way Toshinori carried himself, even in his weakened form, exuded kindness and strength. His laughter was contagious, his wisdom undeniable, and his unshakable belief in others... inspiring. Kara had begun to see why Kai respected him so deeply, why he had chosen to call this man "father" even though they shared no blood.

Kara didn't remember her biological parents. Like Kai, her earliest memories were of cold laboratories and the hollow promises of All For One. She had grown up under a veil of lies, shaped to be a weapon, her true identity stolen from her. When Kai had been rescued at ten years old, she had been left behind, told that he had abandoned her. For years, she had believed it. Yet now, sitting here, she felt warmth for the first time in what felt like forever. Kai hadn't abandoned her. He had saved her. And now they were reconnecting as siblings, piecing together a bond that had been shattered but never truly broken.

Her thoughts drifted to Izuku Midoriya, the boy who had nervously introduced himself to her with wide eyes and a stammer. Kara couldn't help but smile at the memory. He was so earnest, his nervousness almost endearing. Despite that, she could see why Kai spoke so highly of him. Izuku carried a strength of character that was impossible to ignore, a fire in his heart that reminded her of All Might himself. They had become friends quickly, and she found his presence comforting in its own way.

Through Izuku, she had learned about One For All, the quirk that powered both her father and now Izuku. It was an incredible legacy, a responsibility she couldn't fully comprehend. Yet she admired Izuku for carrying that torch, despite how much it must weigh on him. It made her want to stand by his side, to become stronger so she could help carry that burden if ever needed.

Melissa had also been a surprise. Kara had expected her to be intimidating—after all, she was brilliant, brave, and deeply in love with Kai. But instead, Melissa had treated her like family from the start. Kara had come to see her as an older sister, someone she could look up to. When Kara hesitantly asked Melissa to help design her hero suit, wanting it to resemble her brother's, Melissa had agreed immediately, beaming with excitement.

"You just need a hero name now," Melissa had said. "No rush. It'll come to you."

But Kara couldn't stop thinking about it. What name could she choose? Izuku had visited recently, proudly telling her about how he and his classmates had picked their names. His own name, Deku, meant "You can do it," and the optimism behind it made Kara think. She wanted her name to reflect something meaningful too, something that showed who she was now and what she wanted to be.

Across the city, a black car rolled through the streets. Inside, Aizawa Shouta, Toshinori Yagi, and Kai sat quietly, reviewing their notes. They had been meeting with the parents of Class 1-A, explaining the new dorm system and reassuring them about their children's safety. Toshinori's presence as the Symbol of Peace and Kai's calm, hopeful demeanor had worked wonders. As Nezu had predicted, having the two of them together was a powerful combination.

Kai glanced out the window, his thoughts drifting to Kara. She had grown so much in such a short time. He knew she was nervous about starting this new chapter, about stepping into a dormitory filled with people her age. He wished he could take away her fear, but he also knew she was strong—stronger than she realized.
