Duel Between Clases

The cold breeze swept through Ground Gamma, the early winter air crisp and biting, though it didn't dampen the excitement buzzing among the students of Class 1-A. Most were dressed in the winter versions of their hero costumes—thicker fabrics, added insulation, reinforced boots. But none of them drew attention quite like Kara.

As she stepped onto the training field, the chattering and rustling of capes and coats slowed. Conversations dimmed. Eyes turned.

Kara stood with quiet confidence, her white bodysuit gleaming under the morning light. The red and blue accents along her shoulders and arms added vibrance to the streamlined look. The iconic red "S" on her chest seemed to shine with pride. The suit bore resemblance to Kai's first hero outfit—the one he'd worn when he saved the falling airplane in his debut—but Kara's version had her own flare: blue tech-stripes running down her arms, sleeker gloves, and a tailored cape that gave her a regal yet battle-ready silhouette.

"Damn..." Kaminari muttered under his breath. "That's... clean."

"Super clean," Kirishima agreed, grinning. "She looks like a full-on pro."

"Woooo!" Mina cheered. "Look at our girl go! Is it legal to look that cool before 9 A.M.?"

Izuku couldn't help but smile as he stood nearby, adjusting the upgraded support gloves on his hands. His winter suit now featured reinforced sections along his forearms and gloves—tuned specifically to handle his Air Force technique more efficiently.

"Melissa really outdid herself," he said, eyeing Kara's suit before looking down at his gloves. "She made a few upgrades to mine too—better shock absorption and air intake. Should make Air Force smoother to control."

Kara tilted her head toward him, watching him for a second before stepping closer. "That's great," she said, then dropped her voice a little. "But... Izuku, is everything really okay with your Quirk?"

He blinked. "Huh?"

She met his gaze, concern flashing in her bright eyes. "Kai told me something happened during the last training session. That One For All acted... weird. I didn't want to bring it up earlier, but..."

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck. "Ah. Yeah. It was... strange. Like, for a second, I felt this jolt—like One For All wasn't responding the way it usually does. Almost like someone else was trying to take the wheel. But I think it's fine now." He tried to sound confident, but even he knew the uncertainty still lingered in his voice.

Kara's brows furrowed, her expression thoughtful. "Quirks don't just 'glitch,' especially ones like yours. If Kai is worried, maybe you should talk to him again."

"I know," Izuku nodded, his smile faltering a bit. "I will. I promise. I just... didn't want to make a big deal out of it if it was nothing."

Kara placed a gloved hand on his arm, firm but warm. "You don't need to carry that kind of worry alone, Izuku. Not anymore."

His eyes met hers. He nodded again, this time more resolutely. "Thanks, Kara."

As Class 1-A began lining up, readying for Aizawa's training session, a sudden clang echoed from the opposite side of Ground Gamma—the arrival of Class 1-B. Their entrance was anything but quiet.

"Make way for the superior class!" shouted Neito Monoma, his voice loud enough to bounce off the steel structures around them. He strode ahead of his classmates with the dramatic flair of someone convinced he was the protagonist of reality itself. "Class 1-B has arrived, and we come bearing the truth: we are simply better than you!"

Kaminari groaned audibly. "Oh god, not today..."

"Is he holding a clipboard?" Jirou squinted.

Indeed, Monoma was triumphantly waving a laminated sheet of paper in the air. "Behold! The School Festival Student Preference Poll! A very official, very impartial survey conducted among festival attendees! And what does it reveal?" He jabbed a finger at the sheet. "That by a majority of two whole votes, the students preferred our class play over your little rock concert!"
