Shoto struggled against the crushing force of the water, his limbs flailing as Leviathan's red, helical tendrils twisted and writhed around him like living weapons. Each strike of the appendages sent a pulse through the underground river, creating currents that threatened to drag him into the cavern's dark depths. Even his flames and ice struggled against the strange elemental manipulation, flickering and melting under Leviathan's control.
His vision blurred with the swirling water, and panic rose in his chest—but Shoto forced himself to focus. This isn't the time to falter. The cold, steady logic of his training took over. He rotated his body, letting the flow carry him momentarily, then shot a sharp jet of ice downward, trying to create a barrier between himself and the giant's tendrils.
Leviathan's laugh echoed through the cavern, deep and mocking. "You can't stop me, boy. I am the storm!"
Shoto gritted his teeth, summoning the fire in his right hand to counteract the freezing water that enveloped him. Steam hissed around him as heat clashed with Leviathan's manipulation, momentarily obscuring his movements. With a burst of strength, Shoto propelled himself upward, breaking the surface of the churning water and gasping for air.
But Leviathan's tendrils were relentless. They lashed toward him from multiple directions, piercing the stone walls and snapping like whips. Shoto barely twisted out of the way, feeling the rush of air as one of the appendages shredded a boulder beside him. The cavern trembled with every strike, shards of rock raining down like deadly rain.
"I... I can't keep dodging forever," Shoto muttered, his voice strained. Fire licked his arm while frost cracked around his legs, the extremes of his Quirk pushing his body to the limit. "I have to... find a weakness!"
Then, his eyes caught a subtle pattern—the way Leviathan rotated the helical tendrils, the way the elemental manipulation had a rhythm. A fraction of a second's pause here, a slight hesitation there. Shoto's mind raced. If I can predict the flow... I can use it against him.
Drawing in a deep breath, he clenched his fists. "I won't let you drown anyone else... or stop Kara, Izuku, or the others!"
The fire and ice around him flared in a brilliant, blinding blaze. Shoto's stance sharpened, his every sense trained on the next movement of Leviathan's tendrils. The storm of water and elemental control was around him, but now, he was ready—not just to survive, but to strike back.
The roar of the waterfall echoed like a battle hymn as Shoto was dragged along by the rushing underground river. The icy chill of his left side clashed with the oppressive heat on his right, his body teetering on the edge of exhaustion. But then, in a fleeting moment of clarity, he realized the water's path—the river would lead them both to the waterfall outside. This... this could be my chance!
Using every ounce of strength, he shifted his trajectory, letting the current fling him over the cliff's edge. The fall was dizzying, but Shoto's left side flared to life, his ice spreading outward to instantly freeze the cascading water, forming a solid, crystalline trap around Leviathan. The villain struggled, tendrils thrashing and sending shards of frozen water flying, but the momentary restraint was enough.
Shoto's right hand ignited in brilliant flames, the intense heat combining with the ice to create a blinding, searing aura. Channeling everything he had, he unleashed Flashfreeze Heatwave, a simultaneous onslaught of frost and fire, striking Leviathan with an overwhelming surge of elemental energy. The impact sent shockwaves across the cliffside, splintering rocks and whipping the wind into a frenzy.
Leviathan's red tendrils writhed violently, his body twisting unnaturally as he forced the fire to bend to his will, absorbing some of the heat and using it to weaken Shoto's control. Pain shot through Shoto's body as the extreme heat burned against his ice-enhanced defenses, singeing his skin and hair. He gritted his teeth, refusing to yield.
