As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, Class 1-A dragged themselves back to the U.A. Agency Office on Nabu Island, utterly exhausted. The day's work had been grueling—running from one request to another, assisting residents with all sorts of minor troubles.
Hanta Sero, still wiping sweat from his brow, leaned back in his chair with a sigh. "Man, I dunno... Does stuff like helping a lady carry groceries or fixing a scooter really count as hero work?"
Tenya Iida immediately adjusted his glasses, standing tall as he addressed his classmates. "Of course, Sero! Every deed that contributes to the well-being of the people is hero work! It is not only about stopping villains but also about fostering trust and security among the citizens!"
Momo Yaoyorozu nodded in agreement. "Exactly. We may have provisional licenses, but we are still students. If we want the residents to rely on us, we have to prove that we can be responsible heroes. That means putting in the effort—no matter how small the task may seem."
Minoru Mineta, who had been sitting off to the side, suddenly pointed toward a certain explosive blond sitting with his arms crossed, looking as annoyed as ever. "Well, at least most of us did the work."
The class followed his gaze to Katsuki Bakugo, who hadn't lifted a finger all day.
Katsuki scoffed. "I'm not wasting my damn time on this boring crap. If a villain shows up, then I'll do something."
The students groaned at his stubbornness, but before any argument could break out, the doors to the agency office swung open, revealing a group of Nabu Island residents carrying large trays of food.
The tiredness in the room immediately faded, replaced by the scent of freshly cooked seafood, rice, and grilled meats.
One of the villagers, an elderly man with a warm smile, spoke up. "We can't thank you kids enough for all your help today. This is our way of showing our appreciation—please, eat as much as you want!"
The class erupted into cheers. "ITADAKIMASU!"
The students eagerly dug into the food, their exhaustion momentarily forgotten as they enjoyed the generosity of the islanders. Even Katsuki took a plate, though he muttered something about "not needing anyone's thanks."
After dinner, Denki Kaminari, Hanta Sero, and a few others approached Eijiro Kirishima.
"Oi, Kirishima! We're hitting up the onsen bath—come with us!" Denki grinned.
Kirishima grinned, already stretching his arms. "Sounds awesome! A nice soak sounds perfect after a long day."
Hanta then turned to Katsuki, an amused smirk on his face. "Oh, Bakugo, by the way—since you didn't do any hero work today, you're on night patrol."
Katsuki scowled. "The hell I am!"
Denki snickered. "You literally did nothing all day, dude. It's only fair."
Katsuki gritted his teeth, ready to argue, but even he knew they were right. With a frustrated growl, he snatched his gauntlets and stomped toward the door. "Tch. Whatever. This island's boring as hell anyway."
The others just laughed as they headed for the onsen, leaving Katsuki to grumble his way into the night.
Later That Night Under the glow of the moonlight, Izuku Midoriya stood alone at a secluded clearing near the agency office, training his kicks. His movements were precise, controlled, and powerful, his feet slicing through the air as he focused on maintaining balance and power.
He knew that One For All was far from mastered. Every time he pushed himself further, he found new challenges—new ways his body struggled to handle the immense power. He had gotten stronger, yes, but there was still so much he needed to learn.
