Izuku stood nervously in the training arena, bouncing slightly on the balls of his feet as Dick and Kori approached him. Dick, dressed in his tactical gear, had his escrima sticks in hand, while Kori floated gently beside him, glowing faintly with starbolts in her palms.
"So, Midoriya," Dick said, his voice calm but carrying that sharp edge of a seasoned leader. "Kai told me you want to learn how to use everything—Full Cowling, Air Force, and this new ability of yours—Blackwhip. But you're trying to do it all at once, aren't you?"
Izuku froze slightly. "Y-yes, but I know I need to take it one step at a time..."
"Exactly," Dick said firmly. "The key to mastering multiple abilities isn't just about being fast—it's about rhythm and transition. You need to move from one ability to the next seamlessly, without overthinking."
Kori smiled warmly, floating closer. "You have great power, young one, but you hold yourself back with doubt. Your body must feel your power, not just think it."
Izuku nodded furiously, taking mental notes already.
Their training began with Dick forcing Izuku into relentless movement drills. Dick would throw projectiles at different angles, forcing Izuku to dodge with Full Cowling, then switch to Air Force to deflect incoming attacks. Whenever Izuku hesitated or got stuck in one mode for too long, Dick would sweep his legs out from under him.
"Stop thinking, Midoriya! Flow!" Dick barked.
Kori, meanwhile, guided him on Blackwhip, floating above and firing quick starbolts. "Your heart drives your power. When you release it with anger, it becomes wild. Try feeling joy or determination instead—direct it to where you want it to go."
Izuku, panting but determined, kept repeating to himself: One step at a time... One step at a time...
Meanwhile, out on patrol, the city streets blurred past as Bakugo struggled to keep up with the blue streak of lightning darting ahead of him. Wally West zipped effortlessly between alleys and rooftops, leaving a vibrant trail of electricity in his wake, occasionally glancing back with a cocky grin.
"Is that the best speed you can manage, Hothead?" Wally called over his shoulder, his voice teasing as always. "Because right now, you're moving like you're stuck in molasses!"
"Shut the hell up!" Bakugo barked, blasting himself forward with a series of explosions from his palms. His body jolted mid-air as he landed on a rooftop, but he still trailed behind. "You're a freaking speedster—of course you're faster than me, dumbass!"
Wally suddenly skidded to a stop, standing casually on a lamppost as the sparks of Speed Force energy crackled around his boots. He tilted his head, smirking. "You do realize you have an engine built into your hands, right? Explosions aren't just for blowing stuff up—you can use them to build momentum, like I do with kinetic energy."
Bakugo growled, irritation flashing in his crimson eyes. "Tch. I am using my explosions for speed."
"Yeah, but you're blasting straight forward every time," Wally explained, folding his arms. "You're fighting against your own momentum instead of riding it. Watch."
With that, Wally crouched slightly, and the blue lightning around him suddenly became more aggressive, flickering faster as he shifted his stance. His body leaned forward at just the right angle, letting the force carry him instead of pushing against it. Then—
BOOM!
In a burst of Speed Force energy, Wally rocketed forward, becoming a literal streak of lightning that zig-zagged through the streets before circling back around Bakugo in an instant.
