The hotel room was dim, the only light coming from the soft glow of Melissa's portable laptop and the muted television in the background, still replaying snippets of Humarise's global broadcast. Everyone was tense—Izuku sat forward on the bed, fists clenched in his lap, while Rody leaned against the wall, arms crossed, trying to look indifferent but unable to mask the unease flickering across his eyes. Pino hovered near him, her tiny wings beating rapidly as if she could sense the storm about to break.

Kara carefully inserted the MicroSD into a computer. The screen blinked, files surfacing. Most were encrypted gibberish, unreadable strings of data. But one stood out: an audio file marked simply "Alan Kay – Confidential."

She double-clicked. The room filled with static, then a tired, cracked voice emerged.

"If you are hearing this... then perhaps there is still a chance."

The voice belonged to a man who sounded worn, burdened by years of fear and guilt.

"My name is Alan Kay. I was once a researcher... until Humarise took me. My work—my life—was twisted into creating what you now know as the Trigger Bombs. I had no choice. They threatened my family. They threatened all of us."

Izuku's heart sank. He could already feel where this was going.

"But listen carefully. Flect Turn's grand design is not the one shown to the world. The bombs you've heard about—those are merely the bait. The first detonations are meant to be a beacon, a lure to draw out the strongest Heroes, the protectors of our societies. Once they converge, once they spread themselves thin... that is when the true strike will come."

The group leaned closer, the silence in the room deafening.

"Flect plans to detonate the devices hidden in their staging cities simultaneously. In one stroke, he will wipe out the majority of Pro Heroes across the globe. And with them gone... civilization will collapse. No order. No hope. Only chaos, anarchy, and a bloodbath that will swallow everyone with Quirks."

Kara covered her mouth, her eyes wide. Izuku felt a cold shiver run through his spine.

The recording continued.

"But there is a way to stop them. The device you found... it is no ordinary briefcase. It is a shutdown key—crafted in secret by a friend and ally, Eddie Soul. He was like me. Kidnapped. Forced to serve. But unlike me, he risked everything to fight back. He created this failsafe, knowing the cost. When Humarise discovered his betrayal... they executed him."

The voice faltered, raw emotion breaking through the exhaustion.

"He never got to see his children again. He never saw the world he tried to save. But his sacrifice may yet matter... if you are brave enough to finish what he started."

The audio clicked off. Silence returned, heavy and suffocating.

Izuku's fists shook. "All along... it wasn't just about the bombs. It was about killing every Hero..." His voice broke with fury.

Rody hadn't moved since the recording ended. His usually playful smirk was gone, replaced with something unreadable. Pino hovered close, her wings slowing.

He finally muttered, voice low, "...Eddie Soul. That was my dad."

Izuku's head snapped toward him, eyes wide. "Rody..."

Rody looked down at the floor, his bangs shadowing his eyes. "He didn't abandon us. Not really. He... he was trying to protect us. Even when it cost him his life."

His hands trembled, clutching the wall for support. For the first time, his usual carefree mask cracked completely.

Pino let out a soft chirp, nuzzling against his cheek as if to soothe him.
