The night was quiet, the streets dimly lit by the glow of streetlights, when a loud screech of tires broke the calm. A truck, filled with several masked thieves, careened down the road, its engine roaring as it swerved around corners. The thieves inside, desperate to escape with their loot, exchanged panicked glances.
"Faster! We gotta lose 'em!" one of them shouted, gripping the wheel tightly.
But just as they rounded a sharp bend, the truck suddenly jolted to a halt, the tires screeching in protest. The front of the truck slammed into an immovable force—Superman, or Kai as his classmates knew him. Standing there, his arms outstretched, Kai absorbed the impact with ease. His stoic expression remained unchanged, his immense strength allowing him to stop the truck dead in its tracks.
The thieves inside scrambled in a panic. One of them fumbled with the door, trying to escape, but it was too late. Kai effortlessly held the truck in place, his powerful hands gripping the front as he calmly addressed the situation.
"Not so fast," Kai's voice was low, almost casual, but his presence was anything but.
Before the villains could react, two sudden flashes of light filled the air. One thief was trapped in a glowing green energy, his body suspended in the air, unable to move. The other villain was sent convulsing, electric shocks pulsing through his body as he fell to the ground, twitching.
Kai's lips curled into a smile as he turned to face the source of the interference. "Hiroshi, Aria," he said with a nod, recognizing the two familiar figures emerging from the shadows.
Hiroshi, his body surrounded by a soft green glow, stepped forward. His emerald energy flickered around him, like an aura of pure willpower. His eyes locked onto the trapped thief, a smirk on his face. Hiroshi's Quirk, will construct, allowed him to summon
constructs of green energy, and right now, that energy was keeping the villain suspended in midair.
"Never thought I'd see you out here, Superman," Hiroshi teased, his voice filled with both amusement and respect.
Aria, her blue dark hair swaying in the wind, stood beside him, her hands crackling with lightning. A storm cloud hovered above her, swirling as she controlled the weather. Her Quirk, Storm, granted her control over the atmosphere, and the electrocuted thief groaned on the ground, still twitching from the shock.
"Seems like we both got here just in time," Aria added with a playful grin, her eyes lighting up with the thrill of action.
Kai chuckled, crossing his arms. "I was just about to catch them myself. Good thing you two were around."
Before they could continue their conversation, one of the remaining villains, who had managed to sneak behind Kai, lunged at him from behind. His fist aimed directly for the back of Kai's head.
Just as the remaining villain attempted to strike Kai, something unexpected happened. A sharp thud echoed through the night air, followed by the sound of metal clanging against the ground. The villain was sent sprawling, his attack abruptly halted, as a metal staff had struck him square in the chest.
Kai's eyes widened in shock. His gaze followed the trajectory of the staff, locking onto the figure now emerging from the shadows. Dressed in sleek, dark gear with a familiar, acrobatic fluidity, the figure landed gracefully beside them. His presence was undeniable—a seasoned fighter with sharp eyes and a confident posture.
"Dick?" Kai said, his voice filled with astonishment. "What are you doing here?"
The man, Nightwing, grinned beneath his mask, his eyes bright with amusement. "You didn't think I'd let you have all the fun, did you?" He threw a casual glance at the incapacitated villain. "Besides, old man Bruce told me to come check things out. Said something about 'making sure Kai had a sister,'" he added, his tone slightly teasing.
