Leah's POV

"Hey Leah!" my friend, Kara, said. She's been a friend of mine, we've not been really close but I did met Cam because of her, so I owe her big time.

"Hey Kara!" I said and walked to her.

"So," she said, nudging me. "How was the talk with the parents?"

I looked at her. "Let me guess, Cam told you about it?"

She nodded and smiled excited. "Come on, tell me."

I smiled. "It went good, great actually. Our parents old us they've been waiting for us to tell them, they wanted us together all along."

Kara made us both stop and looked at me. "For real?"

"Yeah, I couldn't believe it either." I said and smiled.

"That's stupid that you haven't told them sooner, it would've been so much more easy." she said, definitely making a point there.

"I know, but I didn't know they were going to react like that." I said and we walked to class.

Before we had lunch, we had the most boring class ever: Math. I just don't get it. Not Math, but how it's graded. I mean: I do understand it, really, I can make the exercises in class and I really understand it. But when we have a test... I fail... It's so frustrating!

The only thing that's good about this class is having my friends nearby. Kara, Sally, Kevin... They're all in this class. We have a lot of fun together, but they sometimes are having to much fun... They, alongside the whole class, don't have respect for our teacher, Miss Jacobs.

Miss Jacobs hasn't been here for a long time, so students just think they can talk louder than her, but that's wrong and very disrespectful. When class is being like that, I make sure I'm paying attention so when she'd ask a question, I'd answer it.

And today was no exception...

Everyone was just talking, talking really loud, not minding what Miss Jacobs was saying. I was sitting there, on the second last row, making sure she'd see I was still paying attention. I was raised well, I'm respectful to teachers, especially the ones that try to help you, motivate you to get better.

So every time she'd ask a question, I'd answer it. And every time I was wrong, she'd just helped me understand what was wrong and explained it to me. She was really nice, to bad everyone else was being to disrespectful to even listen!

After class, she talked again, which I never expected. "Leah, can you stay behind please?"

I looked at her, right in the eyes. "Sure, Miss."

She smiled and nodded, she went to sit at her desk, waiting for students to leave and me to get ready.

"Aww Leah, hurry up, it's lunch time!" Kevin said, pouting.

"What does she wants from you?" Kara asked, frowning at Miss Jacobs.

"Hey, enough of that!" I said, raising my voice.

"What's gotten into you?" Sally asked.

I sighed and motioned them to leave. "I'll see you at the table." I said and that's when they left. I turned to look at Miss Jacobs and saw her giving me a small smile.

"You didn't have to do that." she said soft.

I went to sit in front of her desk. "Do what?"

She looked down. "Defending me."

I smiled a little, she was kinda cute like that. She seemed so innocent and so vulnerable. "It's alright, Miss." I said and smiled at her which caused her to smile at me. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?"

She sighed and looked down before looking back up at me. "I've noticed you're the only one paying attention in my classes." she started making me look down. "I'm really thankful that at least one student is willing to pay attention."

I looked at her. "It's not only that, Miss. It's also a matter of respect. You respect me, and I respect you. That's how it should be, those other students are just disrespectful."

She looked at me, she seemed to think about something. "You'd say that even about your friends."

"I'd say that especially about my friends."

She nodded and smiled a little. "That's all I wanted to say."

I nodded and got up, getting the chair back. I walked to the door but before I left, I looked at her. "You know what, Miss?" I said, standing in front of her. "Those students may think you're to young to be teaching them, to young to be the boss over them, but you're not. You're an amazing teacher, one that actually cares about her students. You just need to show them that you're in charge. You lead your students, don't let them lead you." I said and left.

I arrived at the table and sat down next to Cam, she quickly took me onto her lap. "Hey babe, how was your day so far?"

"Be careful, Cam, she has an attitude." Sally said which made me glare at her.

Cam looked at her and afterwards at me. "What's going on here?" she asked.

"They're just exaggerating."

"Exaggerating?" Kara asked, gasping. "You were defending that girl that thinks she's a teacher."

"She is a teacher!" I said, a little louder than normal. "A really good one."

"Alright, calm down, both of you." Cam said, hugging me tighter. "Babe, don't let it get to your head."

I looked at Cam. "Don't let what get to my head?"

She caressed my cheek. "It's just a teacher, just stop defending her."

I sat there, my mouth wide open. "But everyone's being disrespectful to her, she doesn't deserve it."

"Then she will say something about it." Cam said, looking deep in my eyes. "Now forget about her." she said and kissed me, the kiss was kinda different. I don't know why exactly. "I love you."

I smiled a little. "I love you too."
