Leah's POV
I looked in the mirror, I needed to look good for this dinner, it's so important! Every time I looked at something, I changed it. I changed my hair like 5 times, my clothes 8 times, I washed my face constantly so it'd be clean and good.
"Hey, are you helping me with dinner?" T asked as she entered the room. She looked around at the mess I had left behind. "Baby, what are you doing?"
I looked at her. "I need to look presentable for our parents, it's an important dinner."
T smiled and walked to me, she held me from behind while she looked at me in the mirror. "Baby, you're the most beautiful person in the world, you don't need to 'make yourself pretty'." she said as she changed my hair again.
"Hey, I worked on that."
T walked to some clothes. She took a simple shirt and a pair of pants. She walked to me and handed them to me. "Put this one, that's how I love you the most." she said and smiled.
I smiled as well and got out of my clothes. I took the clothes from T and put them on. "Thanks, baby."
"Of course." she said and put the other clothes back in the closet. "So, are you going to help me?"
I nodded and extended my arm.
T smiled and took my hand, leading me downstairs. When we arrived at the kitchen, she handed me an apron. "Ok, you slice the vegetables, I'll cook the potatoes and meat."
"Got it." and so we started preparing dinner for our parents. When we were done with it, I was getting even more nervous, our parents were going to be here soon.
And suddenly... the bell rang.
"T, they're here."
"Are you letting them in? I'm busy with the meat." she said from the kitchen.
I gulped and walked to the front door. I took a deep breath before opening the door. T's parents were there. "Good evening." I said as I welcomed them in.
"Good evening, Leah." they said as they both hugged me. "Where's Talia?" her mom asked.
"She's in the kitchen, finishing the meat." I said as I walked them to the dining table.
They both sat down. "It smells amazing here." her dad said, smiling.
I smiled as well. "T's an amazing cook."
They both smiled and nodded.
"Hey mom, dad." T said as she walked to them, kissing them both on the cheeks.
"Thanks for inviting us." her dad said. "Are her parents coming too?" he asked T but motioned to me.
T nodded. "I invited them and they told me they'd be here. I think they'd love to see their daughter and me together."
I gulped.
"Hey," T's mom said as she put her hand on top of mine. "It's going to be alright."
"I just don't want them to take T from me. She's going to be my wife, the love of my life."
T smiled and kissed me. "I'll make sure they won't tear us apart."
Suddenly the doorbell rang. Now I was breathing heavier.
"That must be them." T said as she walked to the door. I heard her opening the door and talking, and that's when I heard my parents. I was so nervous! "Yeah, she's here." T said, entering the living room with my parents and motioning to me.
"Leah!" mom and dad said, and opening their arms.
I got up and walked to them, hugging them. "Hey mom, dad." I said as I got out of their hug. "Take a seat."
And so everyone sat down. T came back with some glasses and a wine bottle. She gave everyone a glass, except me since I don't like alcohol. "I'd like to make a toast to this evening." she said, raising her glass. She smiled at me.
I smiled at her and raised my glass of water. And our parents followed, and we toasted.
"So..." my mom started.
"Uhm before I forget," T started, she looked at my parents. "These are my parents. Mom, dad, there are Leah's parents."
And so they shook hands and smiled at each other. This was getting awkward...
T got up. "I'm going to check on the meat." she said and walked to the kitchen, leaving me alone.
"Leah, why have you never told us anything about this?" mom suddenly asked, I should've seen this question coming.
"I was scared you wouldn't love me anymore, because I know you want me and Cam together. I just fell in love with T and I was extremely lucky she felt the same way. And now we're engaged and I couldn't be happier." I said and smiled. "I love her so much."
"I love you too, baby." T said, sitting down again.
"I have to admit, when Talia first contacted us, we thought something had happened at school. But we were very surprised when she told us she wanted to talk to us in private." dad said to which mom nodded.
I looked at T. "You just told them you wanted to talk to them in private."
T nodded. "What else did I had to say?"
I chuckled. "That's cute." I said to her, then I looked back at mom and dad. "What happened then?"
"Well we met up an evening, at our house. She told us that you and her have been really close. And right after she said that you two have been in love and that she had proposed to you." dad said.
"We were pretty... not mad, but we couldn't believe it. We did appreciate it that she had the courage to actually come to us and say it in our face." mom said to which dad nodded.
"And that she asked our permission to marry you, although I think you two would've still gotten married." dad said to which I nodded, smiling big.
"I love her so much, dad."
"We can see that now." he said and smiled, he looked at T. "Thank you, for inviting us and for making our daughter so happy."
T smiled too. "You're very welcome, I love your daughter and I'm very thankful that you two will let us be together."
"Of course, love is love." dad said to which I nodded.
"Absolutely." T said and got up again. She walked to the kitchen and came back with plates for everyone. She served everyone and then sat down. "Bon appétit."
And so we started eating our amazing and delicious food. This was an amazing dinner. I'm so happy it went well.
