About a year and a half had passed since the whole situation with Negan. Just about every community was rebuilt and back in almost perfect order.
Since Rick had decided to save Negan and keep him in Alexandria, Maggie, Adrianna, and Daryl practically refused to step foot inside. The couple barely even spoke to the man unless it was necessary. They still had their plan with Maggie and they weren't forgetting it, Negan was gonna die. The three of them were just waiting for the perfect opportunity which was taking long than they thought. Over the course of the year, the sanctuary had started to break down. After Negan was gone, things were okay in the beginning but when things started to get out of order again, some begged for help to keep running. That's why somehow everyone had decided it best for Adrianna and Daryl to move from the hilltop to go help the sanctuary get up and running again.
Well, almost everyone.
Adrianna, of course, absolutely despised the idea but when they kept asking her to go she went. They kept saying it was because she was most likely to snap them back in shape. Daryl didn't think it was the best idea either, after the time she spent locked up it had to bring up the memories wherever she walked. She was staying strong though and she was trying her best to keep her head clear and do her job. When she first showed up, the saviors basically bowed down to her, it made her uncomfortable, she felt almost like she was Negan. She was always in her head and questioning if she wanted these leadership roles or not. Most of them saw Rick and her as their saviors for 'ending the war' but after a while when the crops their crops started to die, others panicked. Food was something that always made people go crazy. It was always in such high demand so when it started to run low, some saviors acted out. They would spray paint the walls, act out, or try and run the place themselves. The couple ignored it though, they planned to be out of there soon enough that they didn't let it bother them.
"Morning Adrianna!"
"Hey guys!"
"It's the Dixons!"
"Adrianna! Daryl! How are y'all?"
The couple sent the saviors a small smile as they walked past the morning workers. Some of them were 'cool' but they still remembered what they did and that made it hard to actually make a connection.
They walked with their heads held high over to their garage. That was one nice thing about the sanctuary, the garage. Some people had bikes and kept them there, the room was stocked full of parts and pieces. Daryl had even fixed up a bike for Adrianna to ride with him. It was something they dearly enjoyed. The peace and quiet of doing something they both liked was such a relief. The pair walked over to their motorcycles and started to tinker around but Adrianna stopped when Laura walked up to them. Laura was honestly such a big help to Adrianna, she was the one savior Adrianna put in charge. She worked with Eugene and if anyone had an issue, they went to her, if it was serious or could turn into something serious then she brought it to Adrianna.
"Laura." Adrianna greeted her with a nod. Laura smiled at the woman before her face dropped slightly. When Laura noticed the listening and nosy ears from some untrustworthy saviors, she leaned in to whisper. Adriannas shoulders dropped and a sigh of annoyance left her lips. She thanked Laura for letting her know before she motioned Daryl to grab his crossbow and come with. "Let me guess, Justin?" Daryl asked with a grin as they walked over to the sanctuarys garden. "When is it not?" She groaned and Daryl snorted at the woman's answer.
They turned the corner and saw Justin and Arat trying to keep a walker hung on a cross as if it were a scarecrow. "What the hell are you guys doing?" Daryl yelled as they approached. The savior pair looked up and motioned to the dying crops getting eaten by some crows. "Scaring the birds away." Arat answered him with a small shrug.
