The sun was barely peeking over the horizon when Rick and Michonne showed up. They were quiet and quickly broke off from all the sympathetic stares. A while later, Adrianna found Rick hovering over the grave they dug for Carl. She walked over carefully and her voice barely broke a whisper. "You know-"
She paused. "I look around and I think about the people that are gone and the people that are still here. It isn't right. It isn't fair." Rick looked back at her with puffy eyes. Her heart broke at his expression, he looked miserable. Tears stayed in his puffy eyes and they didn't seem to fade. "About what I did at the sanctuary, trying to end it real quick, I just wanted it done." Her voice shook as she spoke.
"I didn't want to give them another chance, not again. And I didn't care who was there. I don't know if that makes it right or-"

"It does." Rick's raspy voice cut her off. "I didn't want to risk killing innocent people when I should have been worrying about our people. Hell with anyone else." He said as he came to a stand.

"We'll keep fighting until you're ready."

"I'm ready." He answered. "Maggie's got lookouts out there." She nodded at his words. "Every half mile. They'll sound the horn at each other I know."

"I'm going too. I wanna make sure we're all ready." He explained.

"I'll go with you. Daryl will too." She offered and he gave a small tight lipped smile. "We should split up, cover as much ground as we can." Rick urged. She nodded and her eyes asked the man a thousand questions. "I'm okay." He whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I'm okay. I'm gonna be okay." He said as if he were trying to convince himself. He turned around and started to walk away. "Adrianna." She turned back to look at him. "Thank you for getting them here." She nodded in response and he continued on his way.

Hours had passed and nothing interesting had happened. Nothing was found and the roads were quiet. Daryl and Adrianna sat quietly as she scribbled on a small note pad. He kept his eyes peeled for any signs of the dead or the saviors. Just as he was about to suggest they head home, a horn sounded from the distance. They shared a quick look before he reached over and blew the air horn. When the next horn sounded, he put the horn down and they climbed onto the bike. Daryl drove slowly on the back path to the hilltop, the other patrol cars met up with them. The group parked their vehicles and walked over to the trees. They quietly made their way in and walked to the clearing. The hilltop could be seen clearly and the saviors had just pulled up.

"Daryl and I will lead them in." Adrianna whispered to the group. "You guys know the plan so follow it. When you see Maggie's sign, run to the gates and wait. They run out, you push them back inside, and we take everybody out." She ordered. They nodded in understanding and kept their eyes on the hilltop.

Adrianna and Daryl head over to his bike and when she pulled her leg over she winced slightly. The pain from the gunshot wound from a few days ago was really starting to ache after leading the group to the hilltop. "You alright?" Daryl asked. His eyes met hers in his small mirror and she nodded. "Yeah." She replied. It felt like that question had been asked a million times the past few days. Her arms wrapped around the man's waist and they took off towards the hilltop. When they were at a close enough distance, Adrianna pulled a gun and began firing at the saviors. They climbed back into their vehicles and as the gate opened they fell for the trap. Daryl drove right past them and inside. They followed close behind and once all the vehicles were inside, they hit the saviors with a metal paneled bus. The gates closed behind them and the community broke out into a shootout.

Adrianna broke off from Daryl and ducked behind a vehicle. She shot down multiple saviors before her eye caught something. Her blood ran cold as she saw Simon and Dwight sneaking up on Tara. Simons gun raised and Adrianna yelled quickly. "Tara!" The woman snapped back at the warning. Before Simon could shoot Tara, Dwight stepped up and fired an arrow at her. She dropped to the ground and Adrianna watched as the men scattered.
