-Wasn't the rain about to stop!?" Barked my father at the poor soldier stationed at the door, more so to vent his anger and frustration than as a real question.

-I-I'm confused, my lord." She answered in an undeniably stressed-out tone, as she too had no idea why the rain had seemingly suddenly double in intensity. "T-the guards stationed outside assured me-

-LOOK OUT THE WINDOW!" Screamed my father while widely gesturing at the set of large windows leading to the balcony, which were currently being hit by a relentlessly powerful and continuous downpour that created a loud background noise.

-I can see it, sir." She replied, trying to have him calm down. "But I don't understa-

-THEN SHUT IT AND GET OUT!" He shouted once again, his face red from anger as I could see the veins popping on his forehead.

Quickly bowing in acknowledgment, the woman rapidly exited the hall/ballroom/living room we were in by the heavy metal door, making sure to close it on her way out, which made the metal grind against the heavy black stone in an extremely irritating manner.

-Bunch of useless grunts!" Let out my father in frustration as he kicked over one of the wooden tables, causing the pots and other expensive looking items to be sent flying and, on the ground and shatter in hundreds of pieces. "They couldn't keep an eye on that masked bastard and can't even tell what the weather is like! Why am I even hiring any of them?!" He asked, taking one of the chairs and throwing it at one of the windows in a fury, shattering the latter in the process.

Despite being mere hours, if nor minutes away from achieving his goals, father had been extremely stressed for the past half a day and had only been getting more on edge with every passing hour.

-Calm down Otis, this isn't good for your anxiety." He reminded himself after regaining a proper stance and calm expression while mechanically readjusting his tie. "Although there were a few inconveniences along the way, my master plan will unfold as expected." He reassured himself while passing back and forth in front of the gallery of windows, stepping on the broken glass shards, which he inadvertently spread around the room and on the multiple carpets.

-It would have been better is Bairon had stopped complaining so much about the legality and morality of it all, and if I had gotten rid of the dwarf wench, but it shouldn't matter." He continued, monologing to himself in an increasingly desperate tone as I felt angered by hearing him refer to Hanna in such a disrespectful manner and disregarding my brother's concern without hesitation.

-You're a terrible person." I said in an act of deficiency that surprised even myself with a voice filled with all the suppressed anger and disgust I had felt toward him for so long.

Hearing my remark, my father turned bright red once again before rushing toward me and punishing me across the face while screaming that it didn't matter, before going on and on about how I didn't deserve any rights or respect, how I was his tool, how I should let myself die if he ordered me to.

The emotional pain had faded long ago as I stopped caring about anything he said, but the physical pain, not just from this beating, but all the previous once still lingered and made my body ached, which itself was made worst by the fact that I couldn't move my arms or legs as I had been tied up to a metallic chair and had to take all the hits head on. I was already convinced that he had broken a few of my bones, but the emitters at his service always healed me, letting my father keep punching me.

Finishing his combo of kicks and punches that had me spit out a puddle of blood, my father continued to monolog. "With your wedding, I'll become the head of the human-dwarf noble alliance against Unity! I'll be in control of the greatest alliance Dicathen as ever seen, surpassing either Sapin or Darv's individual power, I'll crush that pitiful rebellion from unity, then those long eared bastards in their forest and become the uncontested master of the continent, finally getting all the power and respect I deserve!" he explained, while daydreaming as I knew full well that he would get crushed by the Lances and Unity the instant they learned what his real plan was and how he was the pawn of the people from the other continent. "I'll become the greatest king in history!"
