Walking in the lavish room filled from top to bottom with expensive and imposing looking furniture and decorations, it didn't take long to locate Lucas.
The half elf was surrounded by an army of maids who were dressing him up like a doll while he stood there in an awkward T-pose.
His staff and stressed expression relaxed a little when he saw my reflection in the huge mirror that covered the entire back wall.
Raising his hand to say "hi", the poor boy's arm was suddenly pushed back down as one of the servant finished fixing a couple of golden trims on the shoulders of his rather heavy looking coat.
Chuckling a bit at the scene, and at how tense and the half elf had become, I moved a bit to the side, to make sure I wouldn't be in the way when the servants had to leave.
The poor guy was downing a long red cape with the symbols of his house proudly displayed on the back, under which he had a stylized jacket with one arm covered in a heavy white and red wool sleeve on which the aforementioned golden trims where being attached, while the other was made of much lighter fabric with brownish color with tints of green mixed in there. The lighter brown and green designed continued for the lower half of his costume, vaguely following traditional Elven outfit design with the junction between the two-style starting from just below his neck and going down toward his trousers in a long curve of golden flower partners with green and red gems thrown in there.
Seeing the maids slowly finish their part one by one and beginning to leave, I quickly found myself alone with Lucas, who let out a long sigh of relief while relaxing his body a bit.
-I never thoughts that getting dressed up could be this stressful." He commented with a slight laugh while looking at the reflection of his own shoes, making me rather confused over whether he was talking to himself, or to me.
-If you found that part stressful, I have bad news for you." I answered in half serious, half joking tone while walking a bit closer.
-I don't even want to think about it." He lamented, holding his face with one hand, as if the thought had given him a headache. "But at least I look good... I think?" He tried to assert, before doubting his own words halfway through, which ultimately made them sound like he was praying for it to be the case.
To be brutally honest, I thought that however designed that outfit should be fired on the spot, but, as Tessia and my mother had made clear to me, my opinion on fashion or esthetic was utterly worthless and should actively be disregarded.
-I'm sure Hanna will love it." I reassure him with a thumbs up, deciding to put my faith in the hands of the designers while I focused on raising the morals of the soon to be wedded boy.
-Really?" He quizzed, his eyes shining with a bit of hope, causing me to flinch internally at how innocent and influenceable he was, and at how I was basically manipulating him into thinking he was good enough.
-Yeah, for sure." I confirmed, pushing through the lie for his sake.
-T-thanks." He answered with a nervous and shy chuckled while softly scratching his blushing cheek.
-Don't ruin your make-up man." I said, trying to change the subject as soon as possible.
Throwing his own hand away from his cheek along with a small hop backward with his face turned pale, Lucas looked like a frightened puppy, making it evident that he was still extremely stressed.
-God, I hope I didn't completely mess it up." He commented while looking at himself through the mirror with a worried expression.
-It's fine." I answered nonchalantly with a dismissive hand wave as I tried to remember if I had even seen a maid put make-up on his cheek.
