#A/N: Tessia's special battle theme:

{Tessia Eralith}

-For the sake of the whole world, Unity will strike you down." As I felt the incredible power through my body, making it glow with an incredibly bright light that eclipsed the dim light from the teleportation.

Not waiting for Cadell to shout a command, I prioritized safeguarding the students that were being used as hostages, and, with that single wish, I felt all the mana particles around me and even the ones outside the plaza converge around the students.

As the mana particles took shape, they appeared as hundreds, if not thousands, of incredibly fine golden tendrils of light coming from everywhere.

Each small ray of light looked incredibly thin, weak, and flimsy even as they came out and grew between the bricks in the pavement without displacing any of them. They seemed both unable and unwilling to displace any of the stones in the pavement, so much so that I doubted they could do anything useful to help the hostages.

But, as all those small tendrils linked together and intertwined, they sewed with each other to form larger and larger tendrils, until those small, insignificant rays of light got to the side of a twig, then a branch, before reaching the size of a tree.

The process was precise and seemingly deliberate despite not putting any effort to guide them myself, and yet incredibly fast.

In just a few instances, the area had been filled with dozens of pillars of light about 4 meters tall and twenty more well on the way, each composed of hundreds of individual filaments.

It was mesmerizing to see this unfold, especially since I knew and felt that this was only the beginning, but I couldn't waste any more time. Dragoth had already grabbed his axe and was about to strike me.

Raising my hand, I effortlessly stopped his attack by grabbing the blade. I had instinctively known that the blade couldn't hurt. Then, just as naturally, I understood how to use my new powers and extended threads of light from my hand, or as part of my hand, judging from how I felt the cold touch of the blade from every single one of them as they wrapped around the metallic surface, trapping it in a net.

-What the—?!" Screamed Dragoth as I snatched his axe away from his hands despite his ironclad grip on the weapon.

-Get away, you fool!" Shouted Cadell at the top of his lungs, causing Dragoth to reluctantly abandon his axe and leap back, taking an evasive stance.

Unsure of what to do with the axe, since I didn't know how to handle it and couldn't leave it be, I decided to store it in my dimensional ring for the time being while focusing back on the hostages.

In the meantime, the pillars of light I had conjured had started wrapping around the students, much to their confusion, as some screamed from the sudden touch and being lifted up in the air while others tried to struggle out of the light's grasp, despite the latter actively saving their lives.

Regardless, the biggest threat right now was Jagrette, who was in the middle of the crowd and could try to attack any of them. Focusing on her, the disgusting woman was already leaping toward the nearest target she could find with acid covering her hands.

Taking control of a couple threads of light, I tried to grab onto her arms to pull them away, but only felt a burning pain as my spell reached her arms and started to melt after touching the acid.
