-I had thought that, as the vessel of The Legacy my master praises so much, you would have noticed me much earlier." Said Windsom with a condescending tone while looking down at me, his perfectly slick dark blue military uniform and orderly platinum like hair only made me even more annoyed.
-My apologies, I was busy cleaning the Vritra's pawn your master forgot to take care of. But I would gladly accept your help if you wanted to accelerate the process." I answered with a forced smile, to taunt him a bit by implying that the Asuras were incompetent.
-Watch your words' princess." Hissed the dragon as he menacingly glared at me, while I stood firm, knowing that he wouldn't hurt me in any way. "Lord Indrath considers that you are doing well enough on your own and that our time would be better spent on some more major issues." He answered with a dismissive tone along with an almost snobbish expression, as I mentally rolled my eyes, convinced that the dragons and other Asuras were just waiting around, twiddling their thumbs.
Beyond the provocations, the fact that Windsom and Kezess apparently knew something about my powers, which I definitively didn't, and which was important enough for the head of the Asuras to take interest was very, very interesting.
Obviously they might just be bluffing, but I doubt that Windsom would put such praises for a lesser in his master's mouth, and even if he had, or was being sarcastic, it still told me that my powers were important enough for them to notice and investigate.
However, the fact that the Indrath clan and from what Arthur had told me, Agrona referred to me, or to the entity that took over my body after I got knockout by Nico in Dire tombs and which was most likely giving me those powers, as "The Legacy" pointed to their being a known and shared meaning behind that title.I also had no idea if "the legacy" those Asuras were mentioning had anything to so with "the legacy" Arthur mentioned from his past life, or if they were completely separated. But I would be sure to get an answer in due time.
-With that having been made clear, I suppose we can move on to the reason that brings you here in the first place." I said, disregarding his answer completely to move on to another subject while trying to stay somewhat cordial.
-Indeed." He answered in a firm tone as his head mechanically turned to face Sylvie, who was still on her bond's head and had been watching us with her big eyes wide open like an adorable, confused toddler. "Lord Indrath sent me to the land of the Lesser's to investigate lady Sylvia's whereabouts, find her child and, if possible, bring them back to Epheotus."
Grabbing tighter around her father's head, the small dragon started aggressively hissing at Windsom, visibly finding the idea of being taken away from her Papa very displeasing, all while Arthur tensed up significantly after hearing what the Asura's mission was.
-Unfortunately, it appears that, in both cases, bringing them back is going to be the more arduous task." He commented, his tone and insistent glare making it evident that he hadn't given up on his plans but would most likely be putting it on hold for now.
-Is Sylvia alive?" Asked Arthur, his voice a mix of confusion and slight disbelief with an undertone of hope, his stance relaxing a little.
-No." Immediately snapped back, Windsom, his face twisting to an angry, disgusted grin for a brief second before regaining his usual clam and mighty appearance. "Agrona publicly displayed her dead corpse to the entirety of Alacrya and even held a continent-wide celebration to celebrate her demise." He added, his voice strangely lacking in emotion despite how grime the subject was. "I was merely referring to bring her body back for a proper funeral."
I wasn't sure just how much Sylvia meant to Arthur since he avoided speaking about her, but seeing the human boy's expression change to one of frustration as he clenched his teeth, looked down and squeezed his fist as tightly as he could, I understood that the answer was: 'a lot'. Art most likely felt outraged, frustrated and powerless after hearing this news, especially since there was nothing he could have done or could do in the near future to solve that issue.
