THE RIDE OVER TO THE OTHER SHIP WAS NOT A SMOOTH ONE. Emori almost crashed, and Raven had to take over. They also discovered that it was a mining ship, and even though they explained it, Ivy was still not totally sure why they sent out a hip to mine in space. Once they landed, they had to go fast because they had no clue what was going to be waiting for them on the ship.
"Okay. Let's go find that fuel. On me," Bellamy announced, clapping his hands together. He was the first one out of the ship, followed by Ivy and the others behind her. They needed to get in, find fuel, and get out. "Suits off in the cargo hold. Come on. We gotta move fast."
An alarm began blaring as soon as they stepped out, and Echo pulled out her sword, ready to fight in case anyone came running down the hallway. Ivy followed her lead, not wanting to be caught off guard. Bellamy shot the older woman a look, and she answered, "We don't know what we're walking into."
"That's just annoying," Murphy commented, causing the Bishop girl to tell him to shut up. It was something she said a lot, and he had started saying it back to her so that she 'knew how it felt.'
They were about to move further into the shift, but Raven stopped when she saw Emori stepping forward with them. "Hey, not you. You should stay in the pod and run a full diagnostic check. That was a big impact. We don't know if we took on any damage."
"I can, uh, stay back and help," John offered, and as soon as he said it, he seemed to regret it. They all knew that that would not be a good idea. Emori hated him more than the rest of them, which was a huge contrast from six years ago because she used to love him.
She scoffed, "How, making stupid little jokes?"
"Don't take it out on me because you screwed the pooch in your big debut, okay?" the man responded, and Ivy wondered how the hell he was planning on helping when that was his answer to her. If anything, he would make her more mad, and she would end up breaking something.
"Hey!" the Bishop woman shouted, causing them all to turn and look at her. She was getting sick of them fighting with each other, and they needed to move. Her voice was firm, and it made them all look at her, a little surprised. "Harper can help Emori. Everyone else move, now!"
