THEY WOKE UP EVERYONE ELSE AND PLAYED THEM THE VIDEO. Needless to say, there were some tears. It was just such a shock, and it hit them like a freight train. They agreed to take an hour to process everything, and then, they would come back together and talk. Ivy almost made it down the hall and to a room by herself when Bellamy ran after her.
"Ivy," he called, and she froze in her spot before slowly pivoting on her heel to look at him. She knew what he was going to say. It was the same thing that he had been saying before the went under, before he kissed her. "Can we talk?"
She sighed, shaking her head and cutting him off before he could say anything else. She sighed, "Bellamy, I know we've been asleep for 125 years, but nothing's changed." Echo was her family, and she wasn't going to let anyone, not even Bellamy, take that away from her.
"Everything's changed," he argued, and she wanted to scream at him. Why did he want her so badly? There was nothing that she could offer him that Echo didn't do better. She knew that all he wanted was her love, but she wasn't sure she could even give him that.
"No," she insisted, rubbing a hand through her hair. She took a deep breath, trying to stop herself from exploding or crying or just passing out. "No, it hasn't. You still have Echo, and the human race is still in trouble. And we can't happen."
"Why are you so opposed to this?" he asked, wondering why she couldn't let him all the way in. The last time that he felt that he really had all of her was the night they slept together, before the fire, before Enzo's death, before everything went downhill. She was his best friend, and now it felt like they were strangers all over again, making awkward small talk and sharing stolen glances from across the room.
She scoffed, begging him to just let it go. She knew that as soon as anything happened, he'd regret it. That's what happened last time. "Because I'm not letting you throw away everything for me."
"You are everything."
"Bellamy, we would be a disaster," she shouted, unable to hold it back anymore. He needed to understand that they wouldn't work out, not in a million years. "We would fight all of the time, and I'd push you away. And you'd blame yourself, and it would all be awful."
