THEY NEEDED A PLAN, A GOOD ONE. They were in Gabriel's tent, trying to figure one out. Clarke raised her eyebrows at the Prime. "You're a Nightblood. You could walk through the shield at any time and lower it. Why haven't you?"

"Because he doesn't want to kill the people inside. He wants to save them, and they'll die to protect the Primes," Octavia explained for him.

"Then, they die," Bellamy responded, and Ivy shot him a look. They had been invaders with that mindset before, and it had not ended well. "I'm not letting our people get executed because theirs are delusional."

She turned to him with raised eyebrows. "Do I need to remind you what happened with the Grounders? We can't just come to their planet and kill all of their people. If we want to continue the human race, we're gonna need more than just us and our people on the ship."

"And I don't have the code. I couldn't lower the shield if I tried," Gabriel added.

Bellamy's eyes lingered on Ivy for a moment after her small outburst before he turned back to the other man. "What about Ryker? He built it, and he helped you escape. Go to him, you lower the shield, we do the rest."

"Ryker won't help us. He left my cell door open to stop Simone from burning me at the stake, but he wouldn't help me stop the resurrections," Gabriel countered.

Octavia looked over at him in shock. "They were gonna burn you?"

"That's what you do to demons," he sighed with shrug. He seemed to have gotten over that fact since then. "I destroyed the embryos. We landed with a thousand. Genetically engineered with what you call Nightblood to protect against the solar radiation."

"That's why hosts are so rare, why Josephine started oblation," Clarke concluded, and Ivy nodded. Everything was starting to make sense, possibly..

Bellamy sighed in disappointment. "So your nonviolent revolution made things worse."

"Bellamy, he doesn't want to kill his own people," Octavia pointed out, and Ivy agreed. Bellamy cared about their people, and Gabriel cared about his. They were in very similar boats.
