IVY HADN'T LEFT HER ROOM SINCE THEY GOT BACK. Bellamy had pulled himself off of Russell, and they accepted the fact that there was nothing they could do about Josephine. Clarke was dead. They had to accept it. The Bishop girl's version of grieving was locking herself in her room and refusing to speak to anyone.
Echo had to slide her food under the door just so she didn't starve. Bellamy had tried to talk to her about ten times, sticking his fingers under the door for her to squeeze just so he knew she was still alive. Her body ached with grief, and all she could do was lie on the floor and pray that the pain went away. She had never been good at handling her feelings, and Bellamy was a prime example of that.
But, one day, something changed. Bellamy knocked on her door like always, but instead of asking if she was okay, he called urgently, "Ivy, open up. I have something to tell you." She looked up and stared at the door, and when he didn't get an answer, he insisted, "Come on, Ivy. Please."
The door creaked open, and he pushed it the rest of the way to reveal her standing there. She looked awful. She hadn't slept, hadn't eaten much, and her hair was everywhere. His eyes softened at the sight, but he didn't seem to upset about it.
"Clarke's alive," he announced finally.
Her eyes shot open, and her mouth dropped, praying that he was being serious because that was not a funny joke. She exclaimed, "What?"
"She's alive. When Miller and I were talking to Russell, Josephine was tapping on her arm. Morse code. It was Clarke trying to communicate with us," he explained, and she felt all of the weight leave her body. "She said 'alive.' She's alive."
"Holy crap," she chuckled out, and she embraced him. He stumbled a bit but hugged her back, drinking in the moment before it was gone. Neither of them had discussed the kiss, partly because they didn't have time to and partly because whenever he was about to bring it up, she changed the topic or left.
"Question is, how do we get Josephine out?" Bellamy asked once they were all back together.
Ivy groaned. None of them were smart enough for this. If they needed a tactical strategy, they were the people, but when it came to science, that was Raven's forte. "We need Raven. She'll know what to do."
