"Why don't you make a move na?" I heard Melli from a distance. I think they're in the garden. I slowly went to the door entrance and peeked, they're talking while drinking coffee.
"Rhea's single. She moved on, she's healed. Why were you not doing anything?" I saw Achelois faced her cousin.
"Loving someone doesn't mean you need to be in a relationship with them. Sometimes, being happy to see them happy is enough." Melli rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"Gosh! Achelois! You've been waiting for her for 9 freaking years! And now you're telling me that you don't want her to be yours?!" Hindi makapaniwalang sambit nito. Bakit mas mukha pa siyang galit? Saka oo nga, if she's waiting for me for so many years bakit ayaw niya ngayong may chance na?
Tapos na ba siyang maghabol? Since may chance ng mareciprocate ang feelings niya nawawala na ang interest niya? Ganun ba siya?
"It's not that I don't want to, Melli. Everything is just complicated. Not now, I can still wait... I think." Hinampas siya ng pinsan sa braso. Babatukan niya nga rin sana kaso sinangga na nung isa.
"Wait—AGAIN?! She's inches away from you! Stop drawing lines and just reach her! Step forward, you coward! What if she's just waiting for you to do something? Gosh, Achi! Everyone was so stress for the both of you! Especially, me to you!" Hinawakan niya ang sintido niya saka mabigat na huminga.
Inaantay ko nga ba si Achelois? O pati ako natatakot sa pwedeng mangyari? Hindi naman kasi madali ang sinasabi ni Melli. Mahirap humakbang palapit kung aatras naman ang isa. Aatras ka ba?
Hindi... ko alam
"Kakaheal lang nung tao, alam kong alam niya na ganun pa rin ang tingin ko sa kanya pero ayoko naman siyang biglain. May tamang panahon para sa lahat, hindi naman kami nagmamadali. Stop stressing yourself to me. Let me handle my businesses, Melli. You were crossing the line, learn to withdraw yourself from mine." That made Melli shut up. She heaved a sigh probably still upset.
"Still, you're being dumb. And there's no dumb in our family." Melli said, slightly calm.
"Then, I guess, ampon ako." Melli smacked her again.
"Stupid. Kung di ka pa gagalaw ako na talaga manliligaw kay, rhea. She's my type, you know it." Ngayon ay siya naman ang nakatikim ng hampas mula kay Achi.
"Walang kagatan ng buntot, couz."
"Sus, bahag nga ang sayo. I know how to wiggle mine. And, you don't have any label. You're not even courting her. You're just her... temporary place? Comfort shelter?" Death glare was sent to Melli which she ignored. "Stop throwing glares at me, Achelois. Rhea is beautiful, she can capture heart of anyone. Sige ka, maunahan ka pa, ikaw din." She picked up her coffee and she's ready to leave.
"I trust her." Achelois said. "She won't, she likes me." She added. That made me smile. I knew, she knew. She heard it. Kaya siguro malakas ang loob niyang walang gawin.
"How sure you are?" Naglakad pa rin ito hanggang sa makarating sa pinto kung nasaan ako. Ganun pa rin nakatingin pa rin sa malawak na hardin si Achelois. Melli noticed me but she didn't say anything.
"A 100%. Kahit pa ilang tao ang lumapit sa kanya, I already have a special place in her heart. Believe me, Melli. I've never been so sure in my life. I'll give you ALL of my inheritance if she'll entertain someone." Mayabang na sambit nito. Tapang, kayang mawala lahat. Tanggalin ko kaya angas nito?
"You sure about that? All of your inheritance even if lolo resist?" Kumindat si Melli sa akin.
"Yeah." Napasipol si Melli. "Sure. Suit yourself, couz." Sabi niya saka ako hinala paalis sa lugar na iyon.
