~Elsa~
"Elsaaaa! Wakey, wakey!"
Anna's voice and her gently shaking me, wakes me from my slumber. My eyes flutter open, burning from tiredness. It was 4-something in the morning when I went to bed, and according to the alarm clock on the nightstand, I got about 8 hours of sleep. That's plenty of rest, but I feel like I need at least three to five more hours to be fully charged.
"Anna," I groan, closing my eyes to shield them from the bright light shining through the bedroom window, "Go back to sleep."
Anna giggles. "How can I sleep when everyone else is awake? You know I get FOMO!"
"Well, I'm still sleeping," I tried to reason with her.
"You're the only one still asleep actually," she says, "Everyone is waiting for you so we can eat brunch."
My eyes fly open. "Wait, everyone is waiting for me?!"
She burst into laughter. "Yes! Now get up, so I can ravage some sausages."
I giggle at that. "Sausages huh?"
Anna's face goes red and she's smacking my arm. "Elsa Winter Arendelle! Don't be a perv!"
I laugh and finally get to my feet. "You're the one that went there. I was talking about actual sausages." My stomach rumbles loudly, taking us both off guard. "Which I guess I'm in the mood for too."
Smiling, Anna says, "Then let's goooooo." She holds my hand and leads the way. When we defend down the stairs, she asks: "So starts got you in a good mood? You seem brighter today."
I lean close to whisper in her ear, so no one close by could hear: "Jack and I talked last night—" Anna gasps loudly (so much for keeping it quiet) "I'll explain in detail later, but right now don't say anything."
Anna pouts. "You know I don't have that kind of patience."
"And I think it's about time you learned," I playfully jab at her.
"Well, whatever was said between you two," she grins, "I'm glad that it gave you your shine back a little bit."
I mirror her smile. "Me too. I hope it's the start of my life going back to normal. Well, normal- ish."
Anna nods, understanding what—or rather who— I meant. Our parents. "Think happy thoughts," she says as soon as we make it to the living room, where Jack, Flynn, Kristoff, Bunny, and Jamie all inhabit. Jack and I make eye contact then. I give him a curt nod and a small smile, which he returns. And much to my dismay, I feel heat rush to my cheeks. Why am I blushing? He's just smiling.
Maybe it's because of what was said last night and our almost kiss. Hell, that's not even a maybe. It's a fact. Knowing that our conversation wasn't a dream has me flustered, but in a good kind of way.
Tooth, Rapunzel, Astrid, Merida, and Sophie were in the kitchen with North, and when he sees Anna and I, he cheers. "Good afternoon, sleepyhead." He was talking to me, and my blush that was already there deepens. "I trust you slept well?" He extended a plate out for me and I took it carefully.
"I did, thank you," I say as I look down at the plate, which consists of two chocolate chip pancakes, one slice of bacon, one slice of sausage, and some eggs. "This looks delicious."
North grins. "Thank you. You're too kind."
I take that as my cue to sit with the other girls, jumping out of my skin when North suddenly shouts for the boys to come eat. It was then that I realized he was making them wait until the girls got their plate first. How sweet.
