~Elsa~
*Friday, March 7th*
Rather than tell Rapunzel my suspicion about Miss Gothel on Tuesday or Wednesday, I decided to wait until later tonight–Friday night–so I could watch Gothel more closely during the school days. I only ever see her when I have her class and during lunch when it's her day to supervise the cafeteria, which just so happened to be today. She was on her phone, as usual. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary with her, but the thing about that is that she has always been a bit standoffish. So it's hard to tell when something is actually suspicious or not.
She's been strange since day one.
And that could honestly be for a whole lot of reasons that aren't criminal. Like family stuff going on, or who knows what. Maybe the way she was raised is the reason she acts like this now. I don't know. That's why I've been struggling with whether I should tell Rapunzel or not. I am going to tell her, I know I am, because it's better for her to be on her guard, but I still worry if it's the right choice.
"Oh sisteeerrr," I hear Anna say from behind me as I was getting my bag situated to go home. Well, the ice rink first, then home. It's become my new routine for some time now, and I really enjoy it a lot. It's been quite therapeutic.
Even though I've been realizing some things that I wish I hadn't been. Like how maybe someone tampered with Jack's car, and how Miss Gothel might be being ordered to sabotage Rapunzel's grades.
"Yes, Anna?" I responded as I continued organizing my bag.
"I know what I want to do for my birthday!" She joyfully squeals.
"Oh?" I look at her, confused. "I thought you wanted a big party?"
"Originally, yes," she says, bouncing on the balls of her feet. "But now I want to do something that will be much better than a party!"
Rapunzel is at our side now, who was definitely listening in by her locker not too far away. "Better than a party?" She says, intrigued. "And what on earth could that be?"
"A party–drumroll please," she sticks her pointer fingers out and does the drumroll for us (drum noises included), and says, "In the Colorado Mountains! We can go skiing there, snowboarding, ice skating," She nudges me and winks. "All sorts of wintery things."
Rapunzel's eyes light up. "That sounds like fun! Oh my gosh, we should definitely do it! I mean, after all, it's your birthday. We should do what you want to do regardless."
"Wasn't Flynn just saying the other day that he doesn't like being forced to do winter activities during the warm season?" I ask Rapunzel. Anna wasn't there to hear that since she was watching her boyfriend practice, drooling all over the bleachers, most likely.
Rapunzel grins. "He was actually. Oh, he's going to love this."
"Wait, that's only if he goes," I say, looking between the two of them. But when I looked at Rapunzel one last time, I gave her a knowing look that I hoped Anna didn't see. "He might have other things planned out."
Rapunzel's smile drops, and the light in her eyes dims. "Oh. Yeah, he...he loves the kids in the orphanage. Always has fun things planned with them. Miss Hattie and Mildred probably won't let him go–"
"Oh, pish posh," Anna waves her off. "Since when has Flynn ever cared about what they said? Or at least Miss Hattie, that is. Plus, he already has so much freedom. They let him do so much."
"Probably because he's already 18 and will be gone once he graduates," I say, reminding Anna of the downfall of his freedom. Freedom that's not really freedom when he's working for actual criminals who have his life and many others on the line. But she doesn't know that, of course.
