*After Flynn's arrival*

~Astrid~

"Follow my lead," I whispered to Hiccup as we got up with the rest of our friends to dance. Hiccup says nothing, but nods as I take my hand in his.

Elsa, Jack, and Merida had stayed seated while everyone else followed Anna and Kristoff to the dance floor. I had only gone in hopes I could sneak Hiccup and I away to Rapunzel's room. Now that Flynn is here, I need to talk to him. Preferably, without Rapunzel, but I know that's not gonna happen. She might not know about him being a criminal, but I honestly can't wait anymore. I'm going insane. I can't confront him at school due to too many people being there and us having two different schedules. I also can't text him because of government or police tracking. This conversation with him has to be face to face.

And unfortunately it has to be now, even with Rapunzel being present. She deserves to know anyway. I don't care if it's not my business. He's putting her in a lot of danger. She's an heiress after all. He's working with people that would rob them all at gunpoint. People who wouldn't be afraid to pull the trigger. I just hope she doesn't freak out, but Rapunzel is smart. She wouldn't do anything crazy. At least I hope not.

So while everyone who had left to dance moved with the music–except for Anna and Kristoff who had actually gone outside–I had led Hiccup and I away, back to the doors we had entered from, praying that Merida wouldn't catch us as she talked with Jack and Elsa. Luckily, her back was turned, but Elsa was facing toward us and made eye contact with me. I almost looked away but knew that would look suspicious, so instead I winked at her, hoping she would get the message that I'm sneaking off to make out with Hiccup.

I was moving so fast that I didn't catch her reaction, but I hoped she got the pretend message.

"Well, so much for dancing," Hiccup says as we head for the stairs.

"We'll have plenty of other times for that," I tell him, my heart racing. "Right now there's something more important I got to do first."

"And it involves going–" Suddenly it clicks for him. "Wait, you're not really going to confront Flynn right now, are you?"

"I'm going crazy, Hiccup!" I hiss, the adrenaline in my veins making me pick up the pace on the stairs. Poor Hiccup was struggling behind. "I need to hear his side of things and hopefully understand better on what it is he actually does. I don't want to rat out my friend, but Rapunzel and Elsa, hell probably even Anna, they might be in some serious danger, and I'll be damned if I don't do anything about it. I've already wasted so much time."

"But are you sure right now is the right time?" Hiccup asks. "Rapunzel is with him right now. What if she doesn't know?"

"Then it's time she finds out."

"Astrid–"

"I know I might ruin their relationship and their friendship with me, and I already hate myself for it, but I can't just do nothing. Especially when there's a chance I could prevent something bad from happening."

"But Astrid–"

He wasn't able to finish his sentence because right at that very second, we made it to Rapunzel's room, whose door was wide open. I'm bursting inside without a second thought, startling Rapunzel and Flynn who were about to share a kiss.

"Astrid?!" They say at the same time. Followed by Rapunzel saying: "What the heck are you doing barging into my room?"

"Hiccup, shut the door," I tell him as I march towards the couple. My heart is about to pop out of my chest, and my brain is telling me to stop and make up some lie, but I can't. I need answers. I need to do something. "Flynn, we need to talk. It's important."
