Kaelee.
It was finally our turn to play, and I was even more ecstatic, yet really nervous. I mean no one here wants to lose; that golden trophy would look pretty awesome in my hands.
My eyes floated over to the stands knowing that my dad wasn't going to be there. I'm sure he has some business to attend to. That or focus his attention on his new future wife.
After giving out a depressed sigh, I turned my eyes back to Tawny as we started warming up.
"Alright ladies, gather around!" coach June said as the team hustled over to her. "I want you guys to keep playing like the way you've been practicing. You've gotten better as a team and I know you can kick their butts." she said with a smile.
With that we ran to our positions and Breanna was up to serve.
"You got this Bre!" yelled Jess.
"You got this ace!" I smiled at her. She took a few breaths and served the ball right over the net and into their front row.
Their middle front simply passed the ball to their setter, who set the ball outside.
"Going out!" I yelled getting angled ready for the ball to come over the net.
With that, Tawny was able to get the ball up, passing it to Olivia who then set it up for Laurel, hitting middle. The ball slipped through the blockers hands and landed on the ground.
"Yes!" she yelled as we all crowded her give one another high fives.
"Do it again Bre!" again yelled Jessica.
She took a deep breath and the ball floated over the net tricking the players but they were ready for it. The libero was able to pass the ball perfectly to their setter who made a set to their back hitter.
We were ready for it, you could tell by the way we were all in ready position, on our toes. Regardless how ready we were, their hitter was pretty powerful as Tawny dove for the hit but it had shanked and went into the audience.
"It's alright ladies, keep it up!" coach yelled as we all went to the middle for a high five.
"We got this girls." I had said trying to keep us positive.
The score was now 21-21. A tie. Out of all the teams here at camp, this team was by far the hardest. Even though we were pretty similar as far as competitiveness.
It was our turn to serve, me at the end line.
I really do wish my dad was here. I remember when he would always be at my games, cheering me on like there was no tomorrow. But now, he rarely comes to watch me, let alone sees me. Always busy with work and now his fiance.
I scoff just thinking about her. Meredith who could literally pass as my sister.
"You got this Kaelee!" I heard coach June tell me with a smile. At least I had her.
I got this. I told myself before taking a breath.
Thinking about my dad and Meredith, I took my anger out on the ball which I hit so hard, the ball had hit one of the back row players in the shoulder she fell down. Oops.
Point for us. 22-21.
"Geez girl, lay off the 'roids." she laughed. (A/N: roid is short for steroid. Lol)
I laughed as I grabbed the ball bouncing it by my feet. Okay so maybe I should hit the gym to relieve my anger and not on some poor girls face. Although it was pretty funny.
