"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
-Edgar Allan Poe
Noah.I was in my room doing my summer homework when my mom came through my bedroom door (without knocking by the way) and handing me an envelope.
"What is it?" I asked looking at the envelope.
"It's a letter back from the academy. Open it." she smiled.
Slowly and carefully I opened it up and read that I had gotten accepted.
"I got in." I smiled. I got in.
"Yay! I knew you would make it!" she hugged me.
Okay, so usually teenage boys would never hug their moms but since it's just my mom and I, we have been close to each other since my dad left us when I was only five. So ever since then we are basically best friends.
Kind of weird right? Well not to me, since she is basically the only friend I have. At school I'm the type of guy who's considered nerdy and has no friends. But what they really don't know is that I am very athletic. I play volleyball for that matter.
Most guys play basketball or football and girls only play volleyball. But since I saw the beach Olympics, it got me thinking and I actually love it.
I wasn't the best player, but I wasn't the worst player either. So I hope spending my time at the camp would help me become a better player. Even though I would like to be at a summer school camp. Okay maybe not, I guess I do sound like a nerd.
I really need to get a hold of myself and stop being such a nerd all the time. Girls don't like guys that are too smart for their own good. But then again I will not be invisible at this camp, I just won't tolerate it.
"But now you will be all alone for the summer." I told her.
"Not necessarily." she said blushing a little bit. My mother was hiding something from me.
"Mom."
"I've been seeing this guy.." she looked away.
"And you never told me." I got up. I wasn't mad, I was happy.
"I don't want you to get mad at me if I I told you."
"I'm not mad at you, I'm really happy for you mom. So the nights you were going to the 'gym' you were with him?"
"Yeah." she blushed like a little girl.
"I'm happy for you." I said hugging her.
"Oh my Noah. I love you." she kissed my head.
"Love you too mom." I smiled. "Now when can I meet this guy?" I laughed.
"You want to meet him?"
"Of course! I want to meet the man that has been making my mother happy."
"Well I guess I will invite him over for dinner sometime."
"Great." with that she left me and I continued with my homework.
California Volleyball Academy, be ready because the nerdy Noah will lose his nerdiness and be as social as any guy that would have a lot of friends.

This part was probably the shortest part, but that was Noah for you. Who said nerds weren't cute? Especially this one that plays volleyball? Hmmm....
