"It's not so important who starts the game but who finishes it."

-John Wooden

Dylan.

After mom and dad finally left, I was a little sad because I did truly miss them and we didn't have much time together. But it was nice to see them after so long of being away from them.

And then there was the thing with Keith. After he told me about his family knowing I was a little nervous. At least his mom and everyone else likes us together, his dad on the other hand, I don't know what I'll do. Even though he said not to worry about it, but I can't help but worry.

There must be some way to get him to see that I'm not like those girls who use guys and such. I don't know how I'm going to prove to him, but I'll do it if it's the last thing I'll do.

Today was a relaxation day after working a days worth of tournament games. I was just laying in bed not wanting to get up.

"Come on Dyl, you need to get up." voiced Michaela.

"No." I grumbled and covered myself with my blankets even more.

"Okay what's wrong?" asked Jess as her, Michaela and Sydney all came and sat on my bed.

"Did something happen between you and Keith?" asked Syd.

"No. Yes. Kinda." I said and then laughed. I'm probably being  ridiculous right now. I sat up in my bed and looked at the friends I have made since being here. "So Keith's family, well beside his dad all approve of us dating."

"Oooh." smiled Michaela.

"Yeah, but his dad apparently doesn't like the idea of us, and by the way Keith was acting when he told me, he must have been really angry." I then looked down my fingers as I played with them.

"What if we can't be together or something because his dad doesn't approve?"

"That'll never happen Dylan." sounded like a very positive Jessica.

"And how do you know that?"

"Well if you saw the way Keith looks at you, how he acts around you, you can tell that he really cares and likes you. I'm pretty sure nothing would be in the way of stopping that, even if it's his dad."

"But-"

"No buts! Now go get in that shower. Keith has been here like five times wanting to see you, and I'm getting tired of saying no and seeing him walk away with a frown."

"He was here five times? Was I really that zoned out?"

"Yes!" they all said in unicen.

"Fine. I'll get up. You all are so pushy." I smiled making my way towards the bathroom. Then I stopped and turned around to them. "Thanks you guys, for everything, I don't know what I'd do without you guys."

"No probs Dyl." they all said.

After about fourty-five minutes, I was in a pair of athletic shorts, and a shirt with my hair to it's natural waves and was ready to go see Keith. I couldn't let his dad get in the way of my happiness.

"Alright guys, I'm heading out." I told my roommates.

"Have fun!" said Michaela.

"But not too much fun." added Sydney.

"And don't do anything I wouldn't do." finished Jessica.

I just laughed at them all as if they rehersed that. "Bye guys." I said as I left. Turning the corner I didn't realize there was a person there and accidentally rammed into them. "Oh geez, I'm sorry." I said and then looked up to see Keith there. "Keith?"
