A Volleyball Story

Chapter 1: Dylan.

Dylan.

It was a Friday evening that I was playing volleyball in my front yard with some friends. I was so anxious about getting the mail today, because that was when I was going to get a letter back from CVA (California Volleyball Academy) saying whether or not I will get to go to their academy for the whole summer.  

"I can't believe you are going to leave us alone the whole summer." my friend Claire said as she passed the ball to me.

"Oh you guys will be fine, you wanted to go to the beach, remember?"

"But that was for the three of us, not just me and Claire." remarked Dani. 

"Why didn't you guys apply to go to the camp?" I asked passing it to Dani.

"Well for one, I want to go to the beach and maybe hook up with some cuties." smiled. smiled Claire.

"Yeah, I'm sure that academy is for girls only."

"Well so what if it is. It's in California! If you guys applied we could have left a few days early and hung out at the beach there."

"Wow, if only you thought about that before."

"Well I just thought about it now. I'm sure you guys can manage without me. Or maybe you can try getting into the camp. Dani your dad is a big shot guy, I'm sure he can get you guys in."

"I don't know. I'll talk to him."

"You guys should come though, I will be so alone."

"Oh you say that all the time Dylan."

"I know." I laughed just as the mail man came with the mail.

I ran towards him and grabbed the mail. "There is a letter in there for you." he told me.

"Thanks Dwayne!" I yelled, basically ripping the envelope. I took the piece of paper out and this is what I read:

Miss Dylan Wilson,

California Volleyball Academy would like to congratulate you for getting into this camp. Please be here at the camp on June 16, 2012 at 1:00pm. You will need to register to get your dorm room, tryout number, figure out the food plan, and have enough time to get ready for introduction.

We thank you for applying, and know that you will be a great player at CVA. Please be here on time or your spot might be taken, there a lot of people who would kill to be here, so don't disappoint us.

"What'd it say?" asked Dani.

"I got in!"

"Yay!" we all hugged each other. I get to go to camp. But not just any ordinary camp, it was volleyball camp.

"I know for sure that you will definitely be team captain when school starts up again." said Claire.

Dani agreed, "Yeah, you are already one of the best players and now you going to this academy, you are going to be one beast player." I laughed at her calling me a beast.

"Thanks guys, well I hope I get captain. I've always wanted to be one.

"I know. Bethany never deserved that spot last year."

"Agreed." we all smiled.  

Now I had only a week to prepare myself for going to this volleyball academy. That means healthier food, running in the morning and the afternoons, and having a volleyball at my side 24/7.  

Well CVA, get ready because Dylan Wilson is here to stay.

I know I'm like juggling different stories. But volleyball has been on my mind lately and you never see any volleyball books or movies so I decided to make one.

I don't know if you are a volleyball fan, but i'm sure after reading this, you definitely will be(:
