"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."

- Vincent T. Lombardi

Keith.

I walk inside my parents office and sit in one of the chairs that sat across my moms desk.

"Hello son." she smiled sitting in her comfy, yet very fun spinny chair.

"Hey mom." I smiled at her. Ever since being with Dylan, well every since I've gotten to know her, I don't think there's a time where I'm not smiling. I'm pretty sure in my sleep I'm smiling.

"You know Keith, she's a special girl, so you better hang onto her." she smiled with a smirk.

"Wait, what?" was she talking about Dylan?

"Oh don't play dumb with me, you know who I'm talking about. The girl you're always with, always smiling and laughing, and don't forget I saw you guys sneak out and go into town."

"Mom, loo-" I didn't even get to finish before she interrupted me.

"I'm not mad at you, I'm just simply saying that I approve of her."

I just looked at her stunned. I had not seen that one coming. Before I could say anything back, not like I could, I was flabbergasted, Lily had come in walking with Joseph.

"Morning mom." she smiled giving her a kiss. "Morning Keith." she said to me.

"Morning sweetie." mom told her.

"So what's going on in here?" she asked.

"Oh just approving of Keiths girlfriend." mom smirked laughing at me.

"Oh Dylan!? She's on my team, one hell of a player." Lil said. "I really like her too, so don't screw it up." she teased.

"Oh whatever." I rolled my eyes at her.

"What we talking about?" dad asked strolling in.

We all got a little quiet. While my mom was more understanding and was more on the peaceful side, my dad liked to argue a lot, always wants his way and is strict in some ways.

I just looked at mom with pleading eyes not to tell him, I was afraid to what he would say about it. But she just gave me this look that said, 'you better tell him now than later'.

I sighed and spoke, "Uhm dad?"

"Yeah son?" he then joined mom on her side of the desk.

"So there's this girl I met here, and we've gotten along so well, and we are kind of dating now.." I then looked anywhere but him. I was just waiting for him to yell at me.

"What?" there he goes all stern like.

"Dylan, she's on Lily's team, we both like each other a lo-"

"No." his face was beet red and I could see a little vein pop out of his vein.

"What?"

"I said no. You are here to play volleyball, not to have a fling with some girl! I let guys into the camp on your impression of thinking they were going to be playing volleyball, not hooking up with the girl campers. So absolutely no!! I forbid you guys of seeing each other Keith."

"But dad."

"No buts Keith." with that he stormed out of the office and left me pissed and upset. There was no way I was not going to see Dylan.

"I'll talk to him Keith. I'll try and change his mind. Don't mind him at all, just be with Dylan. I haven't seen you this happy before, and I wont let your father ruin this for you, okay?" she reasoned with me.

"Okay mom, thanks."

"We got your back too bud." Lil said smiling patting me on the back.

"Yeah, us guys gotta stay together." Joseph smiled trying to change the atmosphere of the room.

"Thanks guys."

"On that note, go find your girl!" mom said making us all laugh.

"Hey Dyl!" I yelled finding her in the sea of people and their families. "Good to see you again, Greg, Linda." I smiled at them.

"Mind if I steal your daughter away for a bit?" I asked. As much as I know she just got to be with her parents after awhile, but after my dad blowing up on me and everyone else approving us, I jsut wanted to be with her.

Her dad looked at me skeptically while her mom smiled. "No problem Keith." she told me then looked back at Dylan. "We are staying in a hotel tonight before heading back home."

"Okay mom. Love you." she said as she hugged her. "You too daddy." she smiled again before giving him a great big hug.

"So what was that all about?" she asked as we started walking around to the track.

"Nothing." I said nonchalantly.

"Oh come on Keith. I saw the fear, something happened before you came to me." she then stopped walking and turned towards me. "What's wrong?"

"It's my dad. He ah, well my mom, Lily and Joseph all approve of us being together," just saying that I could see her cheeks turning pink and looking down. I just chuckled before continuing. "My dad on the other hand, he just got so pissed and was blaming you, well girls in general of distracting us guys from actually playing." she had a look on her face that I would not love to replay.

"Oh." she looked down again.

"Hey." I said hooking my finger under her chin to make her look up at me. "Don't worry about it, my mom, my family are going to try and ease up his mind. Nothing will separate us, okay?"

She smiled a little bit, "Okay."

"Good. Now, come here." I chuckled pulling her close into my arms. I could feel her sigh, but wrapped her arms around me.

I'm not quite sure how long we stood there just in each others embrace, but I didn't care. I had Dylan in my arms, and no matter what my father could do or say, I wasn't letting this one go.

Like my mom said, she's pretty special.

So that had no volleyball in it, but I figured you guys already read enough with Keith in it, but you got to see more about his family.

At least his mom accepts Dylan! His whole family accepted her except his dad. But don't worry, he will come around. Or will he??(; haha

Well how'd you guys like it so far?! Good I hope.

You know what to do!!!
