[T/n: The conflict stage isn't my cup of tea, I do the translation with boxes of tissues 🤧. Initially I planned to translate all the chapters in this stage and post in one go so you guys don't have to wait in agony, but I can't finish them in time 😅.  So let's enjoy 4 chapters first and I'll try to finish the rest as soon as possible.]

Tomorrow is the deadline for my relationship with Phum. It's the day we have to give an answer to Phum's father. To be honest, these three days passed so quickly that it scares me.

Since the incident, I've been living with Phum as usual, only now we also have Fang living with us at the condo. Fang had to be apart from Tan, which is quite sad because he seems a bit down too. The only thing that keeps him going is his phone, which he never lets out of his sight.

At first, I thought maybe I should go back home to make Por feel better, but before I could even discuss it with Phum, he stopped me. He wouldn't let me go anywhere. Even if Phum hadn't stopped me, I wouldn't have wanted to go anyway. To be honest, right now I don't want to be away from Phum. I want to keep him in my sight every minute because I'm afraid. I'm afraid someone might take him away from me.

Today, we went to school as usual, all three of us. I was the one driving, with Fang sitting next to me, and Phum was sitting in the back, sulking because of what happened last night. Fang had bitten Phum's Little Tiger's ear. They had a fight, but when Phum fell asleep, Fang hugged his little brother tightly.
Fang probably just wanted to tease Phum to stop him from overthinking and making that sad face. He probably wanted Phum to feel better.

For the past three nights, three big guys have been sleeping together, with Phum in the middle, flanked by Fang and me. It might have been a bit awkward, but I thought it was warm because we had friends, lovers, and brothers all together.

And we'll never leave each other.

I arrived at my own faculty first, then Fang and Phum went to the engineering faculty together because Tan was waiting there. The morning was when they get to see each other. In the evening, after class, Fang would go see Tan at the football field. We talked and thought that Por probably didn't send anyone to follow Fang like we feared. He probably wasn't suspicious about his middle son because otherwise, Fang would have been called in for a talk by now.

For someone like Por, investigating something wouldn't take more than a day. But that day, he  just called Fang and told him to bring Phum home, then scolded Fang for not taking care of Phum. Fang couldn't say much because one was his father, the other his little brother, and then there was the matter of himself. This whole incident made me realize that the sons in this family are quite "afraid" of their father.

Throughout the morning class, I was in a state of half detachment, half extreme stress because I had to endure the sound of demands for lottery debt payments from Nueng and Joe. Meanwhile, Q was prank-calling Toey.

He took my BlackBerry and sent messages to Toey, making a 'tung chae, tung chae' noise that mimicked the sounds of a lion dance. When Toey got upset, Q just laughed joyfully. Even when the mischievous kid turned off his phone to escape, Q didn't give up, calling him on his iPhone until Toey turned off both his phones. By now, he probably got upset and skipped school to go home.

Q told me that the reason he pranked Toey with the lion dance sound was because yesterday was Chinese New Year. Of course, the mischievous little Toey went to celebrate with his family, and Q tagged along, as if he's a part of the family.

After the worship ceremony and ancestral tribute were completed, just as it was time to hand out red envelopes (lucky money), Toey disappeared from his relatives. Then he came back with a lion head and started performing a lion dance in the middle of the house, leaving Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, and Uncles stunned, their mouths agape, because it was totally out of season. Ha-ha! Q laughed as he told the story, and it made me forget the stressful thoughts lingering in my head and heart for a while.
