I read his response, blushing as my name popped up. Becca was right beside me, her eyes in a textbook like everyone else in the class. My finger grasp my pencil, writing down his response in my journal. I cut out the part when he talked about me, blushing as I read the text again. Becca took her eyes off the textbook, moving closer to me so she could see what was on my screen. I let her read his response, making her smile as she read my name aloud. She quickly whispered, "That's a cute response. Maybe Mr. Dornan isn't too uptight and intimidating after all." Once the teacher looked into our direction, we got back to what we were previously doing. I typed out the next question, sending my email to him.
To my Jamie Dornan,
I would be lying if I said I didn't blush and read that response a millions times. Well, thank you for responding to my question on such a tight schedule. The second question that I would like to ask you is coming up. What was your college story and what is your advice to the graduating class?
From your Tessa Grey
P. S. I was blushing from your last email
P. P. S. Tessa Grey doesn't lie
I sent the email, setting my phone down on the desk. My pencil wrote the question down, waiting for a response from him. I refreshed my emails, waiting for another email from him. My hand unfolded the note of questions Becca gave me this morning, reading the scribbled ink. I placed it inside the pocket of my notebook, wrapping the string around it. It took a while for Daddy to answer, my eyes glancing at my phone every now and then. I finally slid my phone back into my bag, going back to studying for my English test.

I read the question carefully, chuckling at her reaction to my response. My fingers typed across the screen, glancing up as we reached the Grey House. I finished the response to her question, sending out my advice for the high school seniors. My grey eyes gazed at the building as Tyler parked the car, the doorman to the building came up and opened my door. I walked out of the car, slipping the phone into my pocket and buttoning up my suit jacket. "Mr. Dornan," he greeted. I nodded at him, walking into the company.
As I ascended up the building, my fingers typed out a message to Tessa. I saved it as a draft as the doors opened, revealing the assistants waiting for me. They greeted me as I walked into my office, closing the door behind me. There was a package on my desk, awaiting me. I walked towards the desk, seeing the grey ribbon that was wrapped around the black box. Was this from Tessa? A smile creeped up on me, my fingers untying the ribbon. I sat down in my chair, opening the box. There wasn't anything inside, the box bare of an object. I saw the white envelope taped to the bottom of the box, the color almost blending into each other. My fingers opened the envelope, the thought of Tessa coming to mind.
Victoria knocked on my door, reminding me of the meeting I had in five minutes. I shook my head, telling her to give me a few minutes. My fingers unfolding the letter, thinking that it was from Tessa. I read the sentence that was printed onto the thin paper, confused when no one signed the letter. The words haunt me, the printed sentence burning into my mind. I read it aloud, "I know your secret." Who knew my secret? Victoria came in again, reminding me that the clients were ready for me. I folded the letter, setting it down on the glass desk. My hand lifted the laptop off the table, walking towards the door.
"Victoria, reschedule my lunch meeting with Mr. Jacobson," I said into the intercom machine. She came back, telling me that she pushed it forward an hour. I held the folded note in my hand, tracing it with my thumb. My fingers typed out the rest of my email, sending it to Tessa. I opened the letter again, seeing the creases from me folding and unfolding the paper many times. My finger refreshed my emails, receiving even more as I released my thumb from the screen. I waited for her response, taping my pen on the glass.
To my Tessa Grey,
I opened the door to my office to a box with a ribbon tied around it. Have you sent me something? The letter that was inside was something that made Daddy very confused. Was this something that you sent me?
From your Jamie Dornan
I looked at the watch I wore, my breathing getting heavier as I thought about the letter. She responded, her email bringing me a bit of relief.
To my Jamie Dornan,
I don't recall sending you a special package, or anything to you. It's not something that's uncommon to you, Mr. Dornan. Well, have you lost the thought that you are the Jamie Dornan of the Grey House. Something that you might have to think about.
From your Tessa Grey
P. S. I thought that this was a professional interview
I typed a response to her email, sending her an explanation to the letter. My thumb pressed the send button, my writing disappearing from my screen.
To my sassy Tessa Grey,
The letter that I've received is quite confusing compared to the other letters I've received in the past. Thank you for reminding me that I am the Jamie Dornan of the Grey House. I think that counts as a punishment when you get home from school.
From your Jamie Dornan
P. S. If this was a professional interview, I wouldn't have answered you in the first place. You know, because I am the Jamie Dornan of the Grey House.
I continued on my day, leaving my phone on the desk as I had back-to-back meetings with clients. My mind wandered to that note as I attended my last meeting of the day, trying to figure out who would send me that. Mr. Jacobson was talking about his merge with another corporation, my mind blocking his voice out. I don't have that many enemies that would know any secrets of mine. "Jamie?" He said, getting my attention. I blinked away my thoughts, clearing my head as I looked back at him. "Well, what I was saying was Trevor is really good at tutoring and can help Tessa with her senior year," he chuckled. "I never knew that we'd be talking about our children going to college. I mean even you, being a young man yourself." I nodded, chuckling myself.
After the meeting, I headed back to my office, still thinking about the note. I turned my phone back on, going through my emails to see if she responded to mine. She sent me two emails, subjected two different things; actual questions that I need to ask you and control freak much. I decided to read the second email first, the subject intriguing me.
To my Jamie Dornan also known as the control freak,
Even though the letter is strange to you, it doesn't mean that someone has hired a hit man on you. Well the hit man wouldn't even get to have a shot since your whole bodyguard team is full of army veterans.
Also you spoke about a punishment? How's that fair when you were the one who caused me to become sassy? I mean, are you the Jamie Dornan of the Grey House? From the last time I checked, you are! Why don't you rethink that punishment for later.
From your not-so-sassy Tessa Grey
I bit my lip, chuckling at the thought of her getting away from her punishment. My hand quickly typed out my response, looking up to tell my assistants that I was going home. They quickly nodded, going back to filing. I entered the elevator, finishing my email to her. My grey eyes looked up, walking out of the building. I watched as the doorman led me to my car, opening up the door. My hand slipped the device into my pocket, getting into the backseat. Tyler greeted me, driving out of the parking lot.
I walked out of the elevator, my feet walking across the marble tile of the main room. My fingers quickly typed the rest of my response, sending it to her. I looked at my watch, knowing that she was released from school already. My hand took off my suit jacket, walking to my bedroom. I began getting ready for her punishment, getting a box full of toys ready for her.
