Toph

Sorry for not posting stuffs been hitting the fan and apparently I'm a boy (he/they) so I'll still finish this but uh it'll be longer possibly I genuinely don't know

Y/n POV:

we went inside and had dinner with Toph's family.

"Avatar Aang it is an honor to have you and your friends visit us." Toph's mother told us

"Thank you." Aang said with a bow, they talked a bit about politics and such, I noticed how different Toph was acting. she was so polite but I could tell without the wind she was faking it.

"I'd like to defeat the fire lord by the end of summer, but I need an earth bending teacher first." Aang said. Toph used her earth bending to make Aang go face first in soup. Toph looked so inecent the whole time.

"well master Yuu is the finest in the land he's been teaching Toph since she was young." Toph's father explained.

"then she must be a great earth bender probobly good enough to teach someo- OW!" Aang yelped. Toph was still just eating. ok this Girl has my respect.

"Toph is still learning the basics." Her father told us.  zoned out for a bit trying to figure out why toph was hiding how good she was. until I heard Toph and Aang yelling I noticed the other end of the table had food all over the place.

"well shall we move to the living room for desert?" toph's mom asked.

After the desert we were showed a room we can stay in. We all were settling in when toph appeared.

"Hey. Look I'm sorry about dinner let's call a truce." Toph offered.

Aang agreed and they left together.

"Well I personally am exhausted and need sleep" I complained.

We went to sleep but something didn't feel right. Hours went by and katara woke  Sokka and I up.

"Aang still isn't back!" She exclaimed

"What? We have to find him!" I jumped out of bed and went to find Aang, the others followed.

"Look!" Sokka noticed.

We found a ransom note saying we needed to bring 5000 gold pieces to free them.

"Poor toph she must be so scared" her mother spoke sadly. I sighed someone doesn't know their kid well.

We hurried to where they were being kept. We saw a bunch of warriors from the tournament

"Here's your money so let them go" Sokka yelled.

Toph's teacher slid the gold pieces to them.

The leader of the tournament signaled to release toph.

"What about Aang?" Katara asked

"I think the fire nation will pay good money for the avatar. Now get out"

"No we're getting Aang." I hissed katara went and requested toph's help who joined to prove her dad wrong.

She was awesome at it sending everyone out of the ring.

"Woah she's amazing! The best earth bender I've seen" toph's teacher gawked in amazement.

Meanwhile we were trying to get Aang out of a metal cage.

"Hot it harder!" Aang yelled as we were slamming rocks into the lock, until we finally broke it.

Aang jumped out ready to kick butt. I pointed my thumb behind us to show toph destroying the hippo in a cloud of smoke

"She's got this" I explained.

A few kick butt moves later and we left Toph had won!

once we were back Toph explained her skills and how they didn't know her, the real her.

"i'm 12 and have never had a real friend" 

"i understand"

"you do?" Toph questioned

"it's clear you've been given too much freedom!" I got very angry for reasons i hope are clear.

"but dad-"

"-no  buts. please escort the avatar out." he told the gards.

we were all upset as we prepared to leave. until the wind told us too stop. i looked and saw toph.

"GUYS!!" she called happily. "my dad said I can travel the world with you!"

"Awesome welcome aboard!" I smiled.

"it's good to have you toph." Aang welcomed.

"oh right I have something to show you Aang" toph called. next thing we know aang is falt on his face because of Toph's bending.

"now we're even! I'll take the belt back now" She smirked, sokka grumbled but did give back the belt.

and so we went on our way!
