On the World of the Kais...

Gohan paced restlessly in front of the jagged stone pillar that held the legendary Z-Sword. His fingers twitched, his mind racing.

Videl.

She had been brutally hurt. He had seen the blood. Heard her breath hitch as she tried to smile through the pain. And now she was... back there, and he was here.

Shin watched him silently, offering no false comfort. Only time and training could prepare Gohan for what was coming. But time felt like a luxury they no longer had.

Back on Earth...

Videl sat upright on the stretcher as Capsule Corp medics hovered around her. Her body had been healed, patched up with lab-grown Senzu extracts and stim gel, but the ache in her chest hadn't gone away. The ache of helplessness. Of being... benched.

"You're weak. Everybody thinks so."

The voice was low, like a whisper carried on static. She tried to shake it, brushing a gloved hand through her hair.

"You were saved by him. Again."

She grit her teeth as another medic tried to coax her back down. "You've done more than enough, Miss Videl. Please, just rest."

She yanked her arm away.

"That's all they see you as, huh? A girl who got lucky being the daughter of Mr. Satan. Not a fighter. Not a threat. Just a sidekick. A liability."

Her hands clenched into fists. Around her, the voices grew softer, more condescending.

"You were very brave—"
"You gave it your all—"
"You shouldn't have even been in that match—"

Snap.

The medics froze as a dark, shimmering energy pulsed off her skin.

Her eyes narrowed. Her breath came shallow. On her forehead, something new appeared.

A stylized "M."

Majin.

She stood.

Not stumbled—stood.

The wind shifted around her like a battle aura, flickering with pink and violet hues.

"I'm not giving up.
Not sitting back.
Not being saved again.
Not just anybody."

She blasted off the gurney, tearing through the air as she launched herself toward the arena, body thrumming with borrowed power.

And for the first time since the tournament began...

Earth got its first Majin.
