"Mommy, you'll enjoy living in the Obelian Empire! Athy swears you that!"
"Will I, really?" Navier inquired with a soft curiosity as they wandered leisurely through the moonlit garden, the gentle silver light cascading across the delicate leaves, dew-kissed grasses, and blooming hedgerows.
They moved side by side in peaceful harmony, and Athanasia’s expression lit up with a subtle, delighted glimmer dancing in her eyes.
"Mhm! They have the most delicious desserts there, especially the chocolates!" Her eyes shimmered with anticipation, clearly enraptured by the mere thought of savoring the confections once more. Navier, however, offered a faint smile tinged with mild resignation.
"Doesn’t your father tend to discourage you from eating those?" she asked gently. At that, Athanasia froze, a heavy sweatdrop forming as realization dawned. She awkwardly turned her gaze away, suddenly bashful.
Noticing her change in mood, Navier gave a soft, amused laugh, then extended a hand to tenderly pat the young princess’s head. The gesture caught Athanasia by surprise, and she tilted her head upward with wide-eyed wonder.
"But I wouldn’t mind tasting a few of the chocolates you personally recommend, Athy. You seem to have quite the discerning taste for them."
A radiant grin spread across the girl's face once more, and she nodded with unmistakable enthusiasm. "Athy loves them!" she beamed, casting a fond glance toward the serene scenery surrounding them as they resumed their tranquil walk through the garden. Athanasia continued, her voice filled with warmth and joy.
“Athy also wants to show you Raven once we get there!” Athanasia exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement as her small hand tugged gently at Navier’s sleeve.
Navier paused mid-step, her long lashes fluttering in curiosity as she tilted her head ever so slightly. “Raven?” she repeated with mild intrigue, her gaze softening. “Who might that be?”
At the very mention of his name, Athanasia’s chest warmed with an affectionate glow. The vivid image of Raven resurfaced in her mind - his velvety fur as dark and rich as the night sky just before a storm, with delicate wisps of shimmering blue at the tips, almost like moonlight caught in motion.
The memory alone made her giggle quietly to herself. “Athy saw him in the garden once! He’s not a person, though. He’s small, and super fluffy, like really fluffy! Athy was gonna spend more time with him but then he just went poof and disappeared…”
Navier’s lips curved into a soft, amused smile. “Is that so? Is he perhaps a puppy? Or maybe a kitten?”
Athanasia scrunched her nose at the question, her brows furrowing in thought. “Hmm, Athy doesn’t think he’s a puppy, and certainly not a cat either…” she mumbled, rocking on her heels slightly. “He’s just this… fuzzy thing with the cutest face ever! Athy wanted to ask Daddy if we could keep him forever, like a pet or something!”
