THIRD POINT OF VIEW

The car ride to Onika's house was quick, but silent. They didn't exchange another word—just sat in stillness, letting the wind and moonlight guide their thoughts.

When Onika parked in the driveway, they both got out, walking into a house that felt more lived-in now. Onika had once dreamed about this place when she first bought it—she pictured small versions of herself and Beyoncé running around one day.

But judging by the look on Beyoncé's face, didn't seem to be the case anymore.

"The reason I suggested we come here is so we could be honest. I want to be real with you. I didn't come to fight or fix anything. I just... I just want to keep it real."

Honesty—that was something the Jet struggled with. She lied so much in their relationship, always thinking it was to keep Beyoncé safe. But by now, she was sure it had hurt her more than it ever protected her.

"Is that something we can do? Can we finally be honest?" Beyoncé sighed, nervously tugging at the hem of her dress, eyes flickering away for a second.

"I can be honest—I will be honest for you." Onika took a shaky breath, her hands clenching into fists at her sides.

"Thank you." The blonde gulped, her eyes drifting back to Onika.

A quiet tension settled along her spine as Nicki eased down on the coffee table, legs spread gently but firmly, right in front of Beyoncé. She leaned in slightly, hands resting lightly on her thighs, her gaze steady but warm.

"Go ahead. Whatever you want me to do, I'll do it," Onika said, her face fully committed. Beyoncé couldn't help but let out a bitter chuckle.

"Like it's that easy," she muttered, biting her bottom lip.

"What?" Onika asked, confused, trying hard not to get upset or defensive.

"I've always wanted honesty from you," Beyoncé said quietly, pain lacing her words. "I just find it... ironic that now, after everything, is the time you actually want to give it."

"Because I want to fix this, Beyoncé," Onika replied, voice trembling with desperate hope.

"There's no fixing this, Onika." Beyoncé's voice was sharp, final. Her eyes locked onto the Jet's, unflinching, burning with everything left unsaid.

"Not now, anyway." Beyoncé gulped, eyes flickering to the floor.

"I love you, but I'm confused," she admitted, voice barely steady.

"What is there to be confused about?" Onika asked, her tone sharp, as if she were an open book waiting for answers.

"Us. You. There's been nothing but lies and miscommunication between us—jealousy, envy, rage." Beyoncé's voice was quiet but firm.

"I thought we had a clear foundation, but I was wrong. I'm not blaming anyone but myself. I jumped to conclusions when I should've stopped to think."

Onika's brows lifted, even more confused. "What are you talking about?"

"All of this. Everything. New York. Us." Beyoncé shook her head slowly.

"We needed more time to grow on our own—before trying to grow together."

Onika scoffed bitterly, rolling her eyes. "So what—you regret being with me now?"

"That's not what I said." Beyoncé smacked her lips in frustration, disgust flashing across her face.

"You know that's not what I'm trying to say. This is exactly what I mean—you're not even trying to be honest right now." Beyoncé stood from the couch, anger tightening her shoulders.
