THIRD POINT OF VIEW
"Get up."
Beyoncé thought she was trippin' when she heard voices in her apartment. For a second, she figured her dream was just too real—but nah. There were actual people in her apartment, and she definitely didn't invite them.
"Hello?" she mumbled, cracking one eye open. India, Jayda, and Lauren stood in her room. Lauren was deep in her closet, India putting on lip gloss in her mirror.
Jayda shook her again. "Wake up? Girl, you funny."
Beyoncé sat up, glancing around like who let y'all in here?
"Uhh... how'd y'all get in my apartment? And why are you here?"
"Girl, you act like my best friend wouldn't give me a key," Lauren laughed, referring to Onika.
Beyoncé rolled her eyes and scoffed. She wasn't feelin' her so-called best friend right now.
"Let's be real, you stole that key," Jayda said, laughing. The girls cracked up, but Beyoncé wasn't laughing.
"Can y'all get out? I'm not understanding what's going on."
She grabbed her phone—almost 6 p.m. After pouring her heart out to Onika in a string of texts and getting no reply... she cried herself to sleep. She didn't wanna see anybody. She needed to be alone.
"I'm good. Really. I'd rather not. I'm just gonna wait for Onika to come back... not like I know when," she mumbled the last part, thinking no one heard.
Lauren sat on the bed, frowning. "Okay, no. I love Onika—she's like a little sister—but I don't like this side of her. You deserve to have fun, with or without her. Please come out with us."
"You too pretty to be stuck in the house," Jayda added, arms crossed.
"No, for real. And knowing what you know? Get your get back, girl," India smirked.
Lauren quickly shook her head. "I wouldn't do that. I want y'all to have a happy ending. If fun means get back, cool, but don't go wild. You know who Onika is now..."
Beyoncé didn't disagree. She knew exactly who her girlfriend was.
"Okay, fine. But I'm not dressing up or doing anything crazy. Give me an hour."
They all cheered, jumping around and hugging her.
That's all it took. Beyoncé got up, straightened her hair, threw on a cute set, and took a quick shower—just to rinse the sadness off. She grabbed her purse and left with the girls. The second they got in the car, shots were being poured, music blasting. And she couldn't lie—she needed this.
