THIRD POINT OF VIEW

Beyoncé tried her hardest to focus on the words her mom spoke, but she couldn't. Onika was all she could think about. Maybe it was because it had been months since they last saw each other, but she just couldn't get this girl out of her mind.

She watched her mom move around the living room, angrily shouting at her—telling her that new rules needed to be followed and how she was growing up and needed to be more responsible.

It was so much crap she was supposed to be present for, but she couldn't focus.

All she could think about was the night she'd spent with Onika—her hands around her neck, the words she spoke, the way her body trembled.

Every time Tina said another word, more and more flashbacks flooded her mind.

"We may be taking a break, but you are mine still." Onika's hand crept up around her neck, squeezing softly.

"I am? Last time I checked, I was single." Beyoncé smirked, rolling her eyes playfully. She knew the exact reaction she was going to get.

It was in Onika's nature to be possessive about her. There was nothing anyone could say, nothing they could do to get that out of her.

"You're not single—let's just stop talking." Beyoncé giggled, pressing her head against hers and letting her fingers trace lightly along Onika's arm.

"You can't go back on your words. You just said we were giving each other space," Beyoncé mumbled, biting her lip, her eyes locked on Onika's.

"Does this look like giving each other space? Do you know how badly I'm trying to behave?" Onika groaned, tilting her head, her thumb brushing slow circles against Beyoncé's waist.

"Mmhm, I see." Beyoncé let out a shaky breath, leaning forward, her hand gripping Onika's thigh with quiet insistence.

"Beyoncé, are you even listening to me?" Tina snapped her fingers, attempting to get her daughter's attention and maintain it.

"I'm sorry, Mama, but I hear you. I know what you're saying—I feel you."

"Beyoncé, don't make me pop you," Tina said angrily, making her daughter scratch her head.

Beyoncé sighed, sinking onto the couch with a frown. "I'm not dumb, Mama. I'm not gonna just fall into her again, I promise you."

"Oh, are you sure? Because she seems to be the only thing you can think about again. You're losing focus, Beyoncé, and I won't let you."

"I'm not losing anything. I set boundaries with Onika. We didn't cross any lines—we didn't do anything we shouldn't have."

"So what is that on your neck, huh?"

Beyoncé froze, her back straightening, caught off guard.

"It—my curling iron—"

"Look at you, already lying for her. Did you two have sex?"

Beyoncé jumped up, shaking her head with a sharp exhale.

"Mama, no! What? We didn't do anything like that—we just cuddled. It wasn't anything crazy." She confessed the best she could, though flashbacks were creeping in every second.

"I want one kiss. One kiss and I'll leave you alone," Beyoncé purred, eyes fluttering heavily as she stared at Onika.

"One kiss?"

"One kiss."

They let it happen. One kiss—that's what they promised each other. Just one little kiss to end the night. It couldn't hurt anyone, right? They pecked lips, only to peck lips again...and again. Until their mouths couldn't leave each other's, until they were gasping for air with every minute.
