Grow Old Without You (Chapter 22)

LAUREN
We've decided not to leave for the next few days, until Lana gets better. Iñigo, on the other hand, had to leave again to go back to his business trip in Hong Kong, and he dropped by and said goodbye. Kara gave him the cold shoulder, as usual, and Camila scolded her for it.

"Kara Michelle Jauregui. Your mother did not raise you to be like that."

"It's okay, Camila." Iñigo smiled sadly as I sighed in defeat.

"Could you say goodbye properly?" Camila asked, patting Kara lightly on her behind as Kara looked like she was scared of Camila. She should.

"See you soon, Iñigo. avere un volo sicuro. (Have a safe flight)." Kara whispered as Iñigo smiled, kissing Kara's head.

"See you soon, darling."

Iñigo kissed Lana's head and walked out of the room after kissing my cheek too. Camila was pissed, and she was glaring at Kara. This will not end well.

"Kara Michelle Jauregui. ¿Sabía usted cambia personalidades con su hermana gemela? No es así como tu madre te crió. (Did you switch personalities with your twin sister? That is not how your mother raised you). Camila screamed as I saw Kara flinch. I have never shouted at her. It was always Keana who would discipline her. I can't really do it to Kara, after all these years. Kara's the little nugget, and my heart melts for this little one.

"No shouting, please? Don't scold her, Camz" I tried to stop them, but it made Camila angrier.

"No. I know I haven't been the best mother, but I want to make things right. And that attitude she got from Lana has to go."

"Sorry." Kara whispered, looking down at her hands. She was fiddling with it, indicating she's stressing out.

"Don't you like Iñigo? He's nice." Camila said sighing as Kara shrugged her shoulders, still looking down.

"Camz, it's okay." I whispered as Camila shook her head.

"You know he's doing everything for you to like him. And he's actually a good father figure. He can be a good d--"

"I don't need a dad. I just need you." Kara mumbled as Camila sighed in defeat and just kissed Kara's head.

"It's complicated, darling." Camila whispered as she hugged a now sobbing Kara. She burried her head on Camz chest as she cried her little heart out.

"I just want a complete family."

Kara said goodbye to me as she and Camila left for the concert. Kara insisted on coming with Camila, which made everything more convenient for me. I kjust don't want Kara being dragged around the spotlight. She's not used to it.

I really hope Lana wakes up soon. The doctor said we're just waiting for her to wake up on her own. It will be on her own pace, and her own time. I wish it was soon. I just want to see her gorgeous green eyes again. I just want my baby girl to be okay.

"Hey Lana. It's Mommy. I hope you wake up soon, so I could finally sleep on my own bed, and actually get a nice long hot shower." I shakily laughed as I held onto Lana's hand, stroking it. "But I just want to see your eyes again, and hear your sassiness darling. I miss it, so much. And do you know who else misses you? Mama, and Kara." I stopped before tears fell from my eyes. "We miss you, so much. We really hope you wake up soon, when you're ready, okay?" I said kissed her forehead as I sat back down, admiring my beautiful baby. Wake up soon, Lana.

We walked to the stadium, as Kara was holding onto my hand tightly. This is her first time around, and it was nice seeing her face light up on all the new things she was seeing.
