Grow Old Without You (Chapter 31)
KEANA
I couldn't bare to watch my bestfriend cry her eyes out again. The last time I've seen her this upset was when we left the States for Italy. I witnessed 3 years of this, calming my bestfriend down, making sure she didn't do anything stupid. It always makes my blood boil when I go
over the past. It always boils down to one person. Let me get that song from their first EP to describe that cheating whore.
"It's so strange how the same thing, could make you feel so right and bring you so much pain."
So much fucking pain.
I felt two bodies hide behind me, as the clutched on my torso. They were both crying too, as I sighed, and pulled them outside the room.
"I'm sorry babies." I whispered, rubbing both their backs. "Everything will be okay. I promise." I whispered as 2 pairs of emerald eyes looked up at me.
"Aunt Kea, Mommy's sad." Lana said, crying again. "Baby brother." She cried again as I felt my heart break. We wanted this. We really wanted a fresh start, and the littlest Jauregui was the piece of happiness we were rooting for.
"Why do things like this happen to us?" Kara said. "Why does it have to be us? I didn't have a Mama for 10 years, I wanted a brother, but I couldn't have it." Kara said as I felt tears fall from my eyes. I kneeled down, being the same height as the twins as I looked straight into their teary eyes.
"Baby, this is just a test if were strong enough to handle everything. This a test of faith, and our love for one another. We're a family, and we will get through this together, okay." I whispered as I kissed both their heads. They nodded their heads, maybe trying to grasp on whatever I just said.
"Can we visit Mama?" Kara whispered to me as I sighed, letting go of both the girls.
"Baby, we can't remember?" I said as Kara shook her head.
"I want to see Mama, please?" She was insisting on seeing her mother, but we really can't. Those were the orders we got, and for Camila to get better, we need to follow it.
"We can't love. In a week or two, we can. Right now, it's just us." I whispered as she looked down. "If we can, you know I'll bring you there in a heartbeat, Kara. But right now, Mama has to get better. She has to be better for the both you."
--
We walked inside the room after talking to Lucy and Vero. I told them I would call them when Lauren feels better, which truthfully, I don't even know when. Iñigo was on the chair beside Lauren's bed. He was rubbing Lauren's arm, as she was asleep. It helps her calm down, I know whatever it takes to keep her calm, we will do it.
"She just fell asleep." Iñigo whispered, still rubbing on Lauren's arm.
"That's good. The doctor's coming in to check up on her, do their rounds." I sat on the other couch, Kara still on my side, squeezing herself to me, as Lana jumped up Lauren's bed, putting her head on Lo's back.
"I'm sorry about your brother, baby." I heard someone whisper when I was about to take a nap. I opened my eyes and saw Lo hugging Lana, crying on the 12 year old's neck. Fuck she's up again.
"I'm sorry for everything, Mommy. It's my fault." Lana cried.
"Don't ever say that. It's not your fault. It will never be your fault. So please don't pin this to yourself." Lauren said, wiping her daughters eyes.
"Any progress on the Justin situation, Keana?" Iñigo asked as I saw both Lauren's and Lana's eyes look into mine.
"They're still searching for him at the moment. They have leads in New York, but they're still looking. If he flees the country, we have to get an order from wherever country he is." I said as Iñigo sighed.
