Grow Old Without You (Chapter 55)

Lauren

I had to let Camila breathe. It's my fault, and I'm really blaming myself for this, but I really need to make sure she knows this thing between us, our relationship is not like before. I have to make it official.

Camila spent her day in her office, answering and making phone calls to some people. I wasn't able to ask, since she and I are not on speaking terms. I on the other hand, was busy unpacking, cleaning up, and making sure all the bills were settled and ready to be paid. I made sure I had the lists for groceries, and for shopping. We needed new linens for the new guest house, and some supplies in my office. Keana was calling me from Paris I think?

"Hey Keeks." I answered, as I laid down the carpet. I was in my office, trying to finish the lists I needed to buy tomorrow.

"Lo. How's everything in Miami?" She asked immediately. Sometimes, I think Keana has a satellite or something. Or that's called instincts? Or sixth sense?

"Everything's fine." I answered rather fast.

"If everything was alright, why would Kara message me, telling me you didn't come home for 3 fucking days?" She said angrily as I sighed.

"Keana, I was in Colombia, with Lucy." I explained as she groaned on the other end of the line.

"You know how Camila feels about her. Her jealousy just got 100 times worst. You just messed everything up, have you realized that?" She asked as I nodded my head.

"Yeah. I know I messed up. But she hasn't talked to me yet. She doesn't want to." I said softly as Keana sighed, again.

"Lauren. Fix this. Just fucking marry her for Christ's sake. Assurance. Haven't you learned?"

"I'll fix it." I groaned as I sat up. "Make sure you call the girls tonight. First day of school." I changed the topic.

"Well, Kara said she'll call as soon as she comes home." Keana answered.

"Stay safe, Kea. Please?" I said, referring to the still on going tragedy in Europe.

"I will. I'm flying to the UNICEF headquarters in Jordan  next week to volunteer. I know Camila said she wanted to help out too, and I'm pretty sure she also said yes to next week's trip. Anyway, I'll call later."

"Bye Keeks. Love you."

"Love you Lo. See ya."

Camila volunteered? Ofcourse I don't know about this.

I made lunch and called Camila, but she didn't go down to eat with me. So I made her a plate and brought it to her office. She was still busy on the phone, so I just placed it on her table and left the room immediately. I decided not to leave the house today, making sure all the rooms are clean, all the laundry are done and folded. Tomorrow, I'll check on one of the potential gallery spaces.

"Mommy!" I heard the twins come in from the garage.

"Hey girls. How was school?" I asked as Kara jumped in my arms.

"It was okay." Lana said sitting beside me on my office couch.

"What do you guys want for dinner?" Camila asked smiling widely at us.

"Mama, can we have steak?" Kara asked as I looked at her weirdly.

"Steak?" I asked as Kara just nodded her head.

"Okay. But I gotta run down the store to grab some groceries. Kara do you want to come? Or Lana?" Camila asked Lana stood up.

"I'll go Mama. Can I change first?" Lana asked as Camila nodded her head.
