The Death of A Light

A Light that flickers as another light floods,
The feeble glow bears the brunt of jarring lights
It tries, and tries, and tries, and tries,
Till the light gets snuffed and darkness propels it forward.

All the world can see is the hold of darkness,
All anyone feels is the wave of darkness
But, hardly anyone exists anymore,
Who knew the light buried in the rage-filled sepulchre

Can anyone hear its faint plea?
Can anyone feel its presence obscured by shadows?
Is there anyone out there,
Who thinks about the what-ifs
And the reversal of the light's untimely demise?

This world questions the weakness of lights
But does nothing to tame the wild fires
This place called Earth— home to tainted lights burning bright,
Shames the extinguished ones while praising the greedy blaze.
